Can't blame just cacs for that. You got all these parents who cop Js for their 13 year olds. My moms copped me exactly one pair of Js in my life back when the 11s originally dropped and I was 15. Then add the internet so everybody knows the release dates and can count down for months. I remember copping Js on Sundays the day after they released and they still had pairs.
Exactly, I waited like 2 weeks to get my Citrus 7s and Cherry 12s. Can't even wait an hour now :francis:

I'm not a sneakerhead, my bro and cousin are
But there is no way you could solely blame one race for that hype because other races were always there too. Those exclusive kicks being available was not due to a group of black nike creatives stealing and reselling only to black customers
The long term value of sneakers is what created the hype. The ability to resale and make a ridiculous amount of profit is what changed the game. No longer was it a contest between friends and fans
Not only this but just having something exclusive makes people wanna cop. And what's fukked up is the quality of Js has gone waaaaaaay down.

Whites been in the sneakerhead realm before 09'
The popularity of SB's changed the game

News Flash White kids were buying and wearing Jays in the 90's

You guys are sort of missing my point. I'm not saying that there weren't ANY white folks wearing jays. I'm saying that the majority of them weren't. They weren't spending Hella bread on sneakers like us. It was predominately an Asian/Black/Latino culture. The Hardcores consumers were minorities.

And I'm saying it started before 09'
As a sneakerhead that started in about 06' The cacs were lining up for raffles and camping out way before 09'

What kind of heat do you have that will make somebody pay that?
I have everything. I flipped the heavyweights individually. Sold Red Octobers and Zen Greys for 8k and Space Jams and Nubucks for 1100 total.

I have almost every major release since 2007 or so.

I'm selling CDPs and DMPs individually though.

cacs been buying jays since the 90's, its the asians who are the current hypebeast that fukked it up for this generation.

look on YouTube and 90% of the people sleeping outside 2-3 days prior to the release are asians or cacs.

or the parents are giving there kids money to cop every release, meanwhile my ass had like 2 pairs of jays total when I was a kid :beli:

Nah man. Raffles weren't happening in 06. Neither was camping. And if it did, they were for limited edition kicks. Not general releases. Kicks that aren't even rare are now being camped and raffled on. I didn't even camp for ANY of the CDPs. Got them all retail weeks after they dropped.

Not true. As someone WHOS been involved for most my life, there was a point in time where white folks were NOT interested. It just wasn't cool for them to spend that much cash on sneakers. I'm not saying there weren't ANY white sneaker heads. I'm saying that for the most part it wasn't something they were interested in.
As an old sneaker head I agree. White kids were not copping Js in the 90s. They were rocking Chucks and Avias and shyt lol. And I'm the type of dude that pays attention to what shoes people have on. shyt there was even a period after the 13s dropped that Js fell off for a bit

None of these sneaker companies are black owned. The creatives are mostly non-black
Why would you think that regular black folks have such influence on sneaker culture?
Why would you think that materialism, that plagues humans, would be different for white folks and sneakers? Especially when it was about stunting with exclusives, before it became an investment strategy

White people make Kool Aid and wave grease too breh. Doesn't change the fact that nikkas are the main consumer.
