I didn’t flee my country. Never wanted to abandon my people. I fled senseless violence, why should I fight and kill my brother to fill someone else’s pockets. If there was no more violence today and opertunities exsisted I would be the first to go back. Why would I wanna be surrounded by cacs?

To my fellow Africans and blks in diaspora: so many questions.

What the hell is propaganda and what is truth?

Where are u from and what's it like? I feel like Western media can't be trusted when it comes to depictions of anybody blk.

What you want to know breh? Might be better to have another thread maybe? Anyways me I left CAR when I was 16 due to political turmoil, mutiny from a part of the army, linked witha wannabe coup...was the third such mutiny in a couple years, back in 96. Me personnaly if you don't know I'm Belgian and Centralafrican, so had no problem visa-wise. Ended up in some far-away small town in the middle of nowhere in France, but people were cool. Moved around afterwards. At that time I could've stayed, but parents were being cautious and school was gonna stop so they wanted me to make sure I finish HS. I would've left like a year later for university most probably anyway.

Fast forward now and we've had various coups, rebellions, civil wars, all kinds of bullshyt going on, neighbouring countries having a hand it it (even SA sent some troops at some point...they fled quickly when they saw the madness though). A big proportion of the population is internally displaced or left to seek refuge in neighboring countries. Damn near everyone I know left (Europe, US, Canada, other african countries). Country is basically divided in two, central government only controls parts of "its" half. From what I hear, the capital is more/less safe.

This shyt is a lot deeper than simply saying cacs stole the resources. I don’t know if the coli has the attention span to listien. Basically a lot of African countries are in the state they are in now not because of cacs but because of other blacks. Before the coli tries to lynch me let me elaborate, say for example in Nigeria you have all these politians who drain the economy and then take the money that should be invested in the country out of the country to western countries like the US and the UK. They buy multiple houses in these countries and take lavish expensive spending trips. They will also send their offsprings to universities in other countries and have them flossing like celebrities while the country suffer.

You also have issues were if they are arrested overseas then the country they are arrested in seizes all that money and pumps it into their own economy. Look when the Nigerian President went to the UK and the UK prime minister was trying to preach to him about the corruption in Nigeria and home boy hit him with :usure: you recently seized one of our corrupt politians properties and finances we would like it back and the UK prime minister didn’t do shyt. Basically Africans need to start killing their corrupt politians as these guys are bankrupting their countries while living the celeb lifestyle.

You're right in a large sense. It goes hand in hand : we started off the "independences" off badly, mostly for lack of political experience and lack of national unity (since a lot of countries are kind of artificial). So after some people in power usually got their by force (Mobutu for example) and/or because they had backing from the west, and that's how they stayed. BUT, that doesn't stop someone from at least thinking about his country/fellowmen. Obviously they send that money abroad because, knowing how THEY got into power, they know that they might have to flee the country at any given point. So it's a vicious circle. And the thing is that corruption happens in developped countries too, we all know that, but since the general wealth is much higher, it's bad, but relatively not THAT bad as it in a lot of African countries. To make myself clear, stealing 3 million dollars doesn't impact France as much as it impacts CAR for example. But you're right, despite all the various mechanisms the west has put to keep Africa as it is, a some point you have to make a decision to at least be decent and try to change/improve whatever you can change/improve. A country like Burkina Faso has less natural ressources than CAR, is a former french colony and under the franc CFA just like we are, yet they're in a better spot than we are. Obviously Sankara got killed, but he did work. We on the other hand, had Bokassa :beli:

And that's a lot of people I follow/hear/read are talking about now : Yes slavery and colonization slowed us big time, yes international agreements don't benefit us, yes the franc cfa, etc...but at some point we have to hold our leaders accountable for the little leeway they DO have.

LOL I live in Canada and it's whiter than where I left.
I can understand why brehs leave for more opportunity because of corrupt leadership...
Also, some of these folks, quiet as kept, are children of the conquered regime.
Knew a few Liberian "Taylors" in the DMV area who moved in a very suspicious manner.

got your citizenship yet? :comeon:
