Im getting invisaline next week.:lawd: My teeth are straight butI noticed Im getting a slight gap due to my teeth "shifting" no no no
Get a perm retainer when you're done with Invisalign. If you're not 100% with your removable retainer instructions (and it's for life), your spacing will come back pretty fast.

Good looking :salute:
Of course...coming from the girl that has a little gap in my front teeth because I don't take my own advice :mindblown:
Edit: And if the spacing is on top, a lot of orthodontists won't do perm retainers because they're harder to keep clean(you can't see them as easily as bottom teeth). Insist that you know the risks and keep that shyt clean.

Its actually harder to keep the lower anterior cleaner than any part of the mouth.

I just got porcelain veneers a couple weeks back (4 front teeth, $4,800). I had braces when I was younger, took em off - had perfect teeth. However, over the years, the gap started to reopen, so I did the veneers as a perma fix. My teeth are perfect now, i just got a new job, and a lot of it resulted from the confidence I exuded in the interviews. Dont sleep on perfect teeth man. In hindsight it may seem like big money, but in the long run, well worth it - especially in a client facing business like mine.

I don't like the idea of permanent arch wires.
And that's fine- that's why I said to do your research. I've had a perm retainer for years, and if it's done right, it shouldn't scratch at all. All dependent on the bonding and technique that you use, it's not a problem.

And using floss threaders- it should keep you on your toes to floss better everywhere, all the while keeping those lower teeth, and upper spacing in check. If you're in the ortho world, you know those are the first things to shift.

I'd rather put a patient in a hawley retainer before an arch wire any day of the week. Only reason why people go with the permanent arch wire is becuz they're usually cheaper.

:usure: a hawley from a lab is no more than $50 and charging patients $250!! Those require strong compliance over time, and I've run across people that say you can stop wearing them in 2 years?? :mindblown:

Several opinions. Seek them. Everyone has a different one.
