Honestly, I'm pretty much done discussing the subject with other black men because from my experience, most are delusional about the true economic state of black americans. Dudes are really in here comparing a white man working for another white man, to a black man working for a white man. "There are white men who are employees too!!!" Yeah but who are they working for, their oppressors or other men who look like them? Black men working for white men is not the same as white men working for white men, or asian men working for asian men etc it's sad that this even has to be explained to black men in 2017. Idc what these dudes on here say, black men do need more business ownership so that we won't have to depend on other races for employment. Black men should be able to employ or work for people who look like us, we should have OPTIONS.

They keep talking about "other groups aren't pursuing entrepreneurship either", which is completely untrue. #1 yes they are, they all have significantly higher entrepreneurship rates than us, even Latinos. If somebody says this i automatically know they're just in denial and i don't even bother furthering the conversation. If a black man doesn't understand why we need more black businesses, they'll never understand it. That shouldn't even need to be explained. The fact that the majority of businesses in black communities across the U.S. are owned by non black men should be a huge red flag that there's a problem. #2 Not only are other races starting businesses but they're employing their people. Black men keep talking about how there are white men, asian men etc who are employees too but those men are working for bosses of their OWN RACE. THAT'S the difference. White men don't have to depend on another race of men who HATE THEIR GUTS for a job, so why are nikkas in here talking about white male employees? They work for other white men. Asian men can work for other Asian men because they have enough businesses to be able to do so etc. Other races of men have OPTIONS, whether they're the boss or the employee, because their race has enough BUSINESSES. Black men for the most part cannot go to other black men for a job, black men do not have the OPTION, because black men do not own enough BUSINESSES. Yes, this needs to change. I feel that any black man who comes on here trying to argue that the current status quo is fine is a c00n who wants black men to remain dependent on non black men and not own anything.

I think some of the sentiment is that while other races do support and encourage entrepreneurship there isn't that same cultural pressure amongst the "enlightened" members of their race to mandate starting their own business. In pro-black circles most forms of financial success that aren't due to entrepreneurship are looked down upon, and we push ourselves so hard to start our own businesses. I feel like the weight of the entire future of black America is on our shoulders for each individual to come up with their own enterprise. And the reality is, some people just don't have the idea or passion at the current time.

If you look at many successful business owners, some of them did not come up with the idea until they were 40-50 years old. But we are pressuring 25 year olds to do the same. A good business venture comes to different people at different times. The key is that we need to encourage and support it, but the hardline rhetoric on how we are failures because we are working for whitey, is not healthy.

What is the black man's responsibility to his community?

Nothing?

I think black mens reponsibility to his community is to protect it and provide, providing includes being able to provide employment for our people. Right now we're not doing protecting or providing for our communities the way we should. Outsiders/foreigners come in all the time and extract wealth with their businesses, while not even hiring blacks in their stores. This happens in black communities across America everyday, it's not just a few. Black men who live there should be doing something to combat that but aren't, because they think that's how it's supposed to be. As I said, anything flies in our communities. Drug dealers come in and do what they want, other black men turn their head the other way and refuse to "snitch" on them. Non black men come in and start all the businesses and make money off the black men and women living there, while only hiring people of their own race/ethnicity. Cops kill black men, women and children with no repercussions and even get away with it because the black man is too powerless to do anything about it. This is not okay.

Hmmmmmm, okay - so we need more more businesses? :jbhmm: Got it.

How????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Given the circumstances of blacks, how do we make this happen? What do we do first? How do we go about doing this? When do we start?

Let's get a plan together, brehs :beli:

Thats what happens in a community where (for AAs) its matriarchy that calls the shots for the most part

This is true too. When i see some posts on here, it deadass sounds like a chick wrote it then i look at the username and see it's a guy :heh: a lot of dudes on here sound like broads, probably because they were mostly around their mom growing up.

Grown men saying stuff like "I don't like the way you said that :stopitslime: You should have worded it differently, your delivery was offensive" :mjlol:

I'm not sugarcoating this shyt....nikkas are too sensitive these days...."if you'd say it nicely we'd listen"..fukk outta here

This is lowkey republican talk...

Its like asking your lil brother why he keep going to the bathroom, while you putting alaxatives in his food..

Lets not act like the govt has been expoliting the black man thru mass incaceration and unfair socio/economic experiments that have left us in dissaray for decades..

We being compared to races of men who have no idea what its like for america to make it its business to sabotage you at any chance they get..
America wanted the black man removed from the household...what other race of man has america expirimented on at the same level as they have with a black man?

Forgetting history while tearing down your own in the process is the bill cosby "elitest"talk that makes you just as bad as the cacs that you guys ramble about...

Hit the streets and understand the struggle from the trenches before you tear your own down..

Overall, yes. But this thread will be full of posters who come in and name call and insult you like kindergarteners.

Imo black men as a collective don't like to turn the mirror on ourselves and anaylze anything that we need to improve on. A few are willing to but the majority refuses. We'd rather laugh and tapdance for scraps from Mr Charlie and spend our time "having fun" and shopping when we're not punching the clock for him. There's no plan, no trying to figure anything out, etc. They refuse to even take the subject seriously. Black men at this point don't even see ourselves as a collective, we see ourselves as separate individuals who just happen to be black, who exist in the same country. Then they wonder why black men are in the position we're in compared to other races of men who pool resources together.

We may as well admit that the Black community will always have to rely on cacs and non-blacks to take care of us. Just about every grocery store, bank, dry cleaner, and all other essential businesses in Black neighborhoods are owned by non-blacks to serve the communities. Black men stopped striving to be business owners after segregation ended. The only way to reverse the damage that has been done to Black communities worldwide would be to bring back segregation which would then force black men to stay in their communities and nurture them. Now of course that will never happen because it is not the politically correct thing to do and in this day and age it would be a logistical nightmare. We are now consumers and not producers because of nonexistent male leadership.

Sad.

But true.
