That goof ball @Gil Scott-Heroin trying to take a victory lap about an athlete being so fragile he supposedly couldn’t make it through entire calisthenic workout without his body locking up, as if that’s the reason he hasn’t been able to play full games :mjlol:

The workout happened back in September. If a 20 year old can’t recover fully from a workout 7 months ago, how is his body supposed to hold up over 82 games?

No one else on the team had to go to the hospital. This kid has been missing games since high school, whose fault is that?

The narrative went from college basketball is too easy so he’s taking himself out of games to protect his stock (when he was making shots) to “Kansas made me a do workout that was too hard back in September so that’s why I’m playing bad now” :francis:

This is his agent and team playing media games after a bad stretch of basketball. If this workout was the issue, they would’ve leaked it last month when everyone was wondering why he’s pulling himself out of games.
Anytime the draft nerds have to reference HS to justify a draft grade after someone has played a full year of CBB then you know to be suspicious

I don’t disagree cramping can be an issue and I’ve been around athletes who it impacted long term. However, hundreds of players have completed that same boot camp session and didn’t end up with this issue. :francis:

It ain’t the workout, it’s the player and his body. Placing blame on the program and a workout is straight up agent spin.
:gucci: nikka if you're running the camp part of your job is being able to look at people and notice signs of extreme dehydration, not continue to push until a super talented person is in the hospital, that's straight up negligence. Take that nikka off the court and get him with some nutrition people because his HS trainers clearly dropped the ball with health and wellness, that's a very simple fix.

You a professional trainer and you can't notice dehydration or understand the risks you're taking by pushing them, you aren't doing your job properly :yeshrug:

I dont even work in sports and one of the safety test im required to take per the union is on noticing signs of dehydration and basic safety shyt in general when you got people outside doing anything strenuous :camby: no idea what you're talking about, learning about that stuff is a REQUIREMENT in alot of fields, should be day one knowledge for someone in a multi-million dollar athletics program.

You sound like you would've skipped on Durant in the draft cuz he couldn't bench press his own weight :mjlol: nikka you have to evaluate people person by person, Darren was a big talent, just get him right with the hydration shyt first, not fukk up the kid's body and confidence.

They’re saying this happened a week after the workout.

He’s a 19-20 year old athlete literally being paid millions of dollars to be at Kansas. I’m sure there was plenty of oversight before, during, and after said workout.

This ain’t 1978 with coaches telling kids they can’t drink water and forcing them to damn near kill themselves. You can’t get away with that today especially with a kid who has an agent/management etc.

Like I said, hundreds of players have went through the same workout, if he’s the only one with this “hydration” issue, is it the player or the workout?

KD not being able to bench ain’t the same as a kid who has body cramping issues 7 months after a workout :why: if you’re a GM that’s something you have to take into account

How do you know he was the only one to have issues? We can't speak to that at all and like i said that's still an easy fix if the trainers are actually paying attention to his health and conditioning, this type of shyt doesn't just pop up outta nowhere like Bronny's heart giving out, every human has signs before they go into full body cramps like that,

And even if it was just only him, if his upside is higher than whatever accomodations come with not working him as hard then NBA teams will still deal with it, that's why i brought up Durant, you can ignore certain physical deficiencies if it's worth it, Embiid was damn near having his best season this year on one leg, GSW waited out Currys ankles made out of tissue, etc.

NBA doesn't even go ham on players with practicing unless you're on the heat, he'll be aight, it was just a silly decision to keep all of this under wraps to the point everyone was convinced he had some type of attitude issues going on, they should've stepped on that narrative early but hopefully he and his people learned from this

Iirc this wasn't public knowledge so no one should be embarrassed about anything
Cats should be embarrassed because they didn't give this young man the benefit of the doubt. They just demonized him without having any intimate knowledge of what the issue was. They just assumed the worst about his personality. Sounding like some old ass hating cacs on Facebook. Look at @Squirrel The c00n Man who's still arguing with you even despite it now being public knowledge.

It won't stop everyone from running up in here doubling down because they don't want to walk back their shyt.

That's just naive breh :yeshrug: if someone's keeping a secret then everyone has a 50/50 chance to be right or wrong, it's solely guesswork and not something anyone should feel bad about except for Darren's agent cuz they could've prevented people speaking ill on his character from jump

Just looks like mismanagement all around with him + thinking playing well just makes everything vanish

They should feel bad about hating not knowing the situation. Like I just said in my previous post, they're still in here doubling down. That's not guesswork - that's hating.
