I had to make a hard choice between the 65 lg oled c6 and the Samsung 65ks9800.

I heard the input lag when gaming with 4k hdr is a big issue. So much so gamers are petitioning LG to fix it via update.

Sony and Samsung have all rdy obliged. But LG is mute on the issue. From what I read tech ppl are saying the reason is becuz it's a hardware issue for oleds and can't b fixed via update. Basically if youre a serious gamer your SOL with the 16 model it seems.

The minor issues with image retention and the fact oleds colors fade after so much usage also swayed me.

I had to go with the Samsung.

I love my LG 4K OLED. Best TV I've ever owned. The input lag on HDR doesn't bother me, but I'm not into competitive games, so maybe that's why. I mainly use it for TV and movie watching and it is fukking marvelous. :ohlawd:

I use my 5K for gaming on PC, so I guess it's not a problem for me. :yeshrug:

OLEDs are overrated as fukk especially for gaming
TV tech sucks because whenever you jump in the following year something is dropping that makes your purchase several times worse than it was back when you bought it.

I kinda regret dropping $2500 on a 55JS9000 Samsung last year because it's a curved screen which I didn't want and retroactively the HDR on it is now gimped because the KS8000 which is now $999 has better HDR and is a flat screen this year. Not to mention they made a big stink about it having a full one connect box and now they've moved away from letting you upgrade TVs with those.

I look at this OLED 4K and it's affordable OLED but I can't resell a TV for anything worthwhile. If I sold this Samsung I doubt I could do better than $500-$600 for it. in all honesty TVs I've found to be one of the most worthless purchases you can make. I'm fighting temptation to buy this one.

Looking at the ratings this tv performs worse on input lag that the C6 which is the curved screen version. 34 ms on the C6 and 44 ms on the B6.

I would have bought this if the HDR performance was even borderline acceptable, after spending so much money last year and now this year having a set that the new TVs render obsolete I just can't do it again. Next year the OLEDs will probably cost less and have that problem fixed.

You're a big spender so it's nothing to you but from mid-2012 to 2016 I've spend almost $10,000 on 6 TVs. 2 of which I sold for less than $1000 combined when they cost me about $3300 together. I still have 4 and really only use 2 of them the other 2 just sit mostly unused. Looking back on that I could have half paid off a new car or had a decent amount to put on a down payment for a house with all that money. such a waste.

That's tech for you. As soon as you buy it, it's obsolete. No need worrying about missing out on HDR or 4k or whatever is hot. In a few years, you can probably get a higher quality tv than the premium sets for a fraction of the price.

So why buy another one then? :dwillhuh:

Last time I bought a tv was in 2008. I finally copped a new TV last week. It's a 55 inch Samsung curved joint. Same shyt the Coli was raving about. I had buyer's remorse immediately after buying it but I justified it because I've waited 8 years to cop a new tv.
