TV tech sucks because whenever you jump in the following year something is dropping that makes your purchase several times worse than it was back when you bought it.

I kinda regret dropping $2500 on a 55JS9000 Samsung last year because it's a curved screen which I didn't want and retroactively the HDR on it is now gimped because the KS8000 which is now $999 has better HDR and is a flat screen this year. Not to mention they made a big stink about it having a full one connect box and now they've moved away from letting you upgrade TVs with those.

I look at this OLED 4K and it's affordable OLED but I can't resell a TV for anything worthwhile. If I sold this Samsung I doubt I could do better than $500-$600 for it. in all honesty TVs I've found to be one of the most worthless purchases you can make. I'm fighting temptation to buy this one.
That's why it's best to cop the best TV u can find when it goes on a crazy dope sale. Even if it takes the next year over to cop it. Cause just cause a TV is newer doesnt mean it's better. That Sony W900a still has better image quality, colors and is better for gaming than most 4K TV's out and that shyt is 1080p and dropped in 2013. U just gotta watch out for the gems. Cop and ignore all the other extra shyt that drops after.

I love my LG 4K OLED. Best TV I've ever owned. The input lag on HDR doesn't bother me, but I'm not into competitive games, so maybe that's why. I mainly use it for TV and movie watching and it is fukking marvelous. :ohlawd:

I use my 5K for gaming on PC, so I guess it's not a problem for me. :yeshrug:
U have the B6 right?

I think the B6 has the best response time in 4K HDR and the C6 and the E6 has the better response time in all other modes. C6 and E6 have virtually the same response time for everything.
To be honest, I don't notice the lag at all. I'm no competive gamer on consoles though. I tried R&C and UC4 in HDR and didn't notice any lag at all. Being a primary PC gamer has got me playing the competitive shooters, etc. on my 5K monitor.

Casual gaming, like UC4, I don't notice the response times at all in HDR :yeshrug:

I'm waiting a year or two before getting an OLED so the technology can mature. :yeshrug:
Yeah I'm not spending on a TV that has a glaring flaw at this point. They should be a purchase you'll be satisfied with for years. The 2015 Samsungs don't have HDR on the built in Netflix app. Netflix points their finger at Samsung. At CES 2016 Samsung said our 2015 TVs would get Tinzen 2.0 and it's the end of the year and it hasn't happened. It probably never will because the truth is once the year the TV came out ends those companies DGAF anymore and move on to next year's models.

OLEDs are probably a year or two away from being worth the purchase. The prices are almost reasonable now but there's still some flaws with the tech especially because LG is the only company making them. In 2 years they'll likely hit mass market price.

If cats can't see the worth in copping a 4K OLED tv, some of you nikkas might need to invest in glasses, lmao.

It went down like this:

LG didn't predict that game console makers would release HDR enabled consoles this year. both Microsoft and Sony did and LG's HDR mode on the TV doesn't allow for gaming mode where it cuts out all the post-processing crap so when you play a game on an LG TV with HDR you're getting 6+ frames of lag between when you push a button and the action happens on screen. Gamers bought this to LG's attention and there hasn't been an official response on it.

Imagine how it feels to drop $2000+ on a TV and have it have this flaw then you bring it to the manufactures attention and they don't respond. I suspect they aren't responding because this is a hardware issue that can't be fixed on these models and they're having a Black Friday sale right now and wouldn't want to say anything that might cost them sales. These same issues were pointed out to Sony and Samsung and they've issues fixes but their TVs use different tech.

I agree with that. That's fukked up. But the notion that people are trying to pull with "4K tv's aren't worth it right now" is flat out untrue.

I would have bought this if the HDR performance was even borderline acceptable, after spending so much money last year and now this year having a set that the new TVs render obsolete I just can't do it again. Next year the OLEDs will probably cost less and have that problem fixed.

You're a big spender so it's nothing to you but from mid-2012 to 2016 I've spend almost $10,000 on 6 TVs. 2 of which I sold for less than $1000 combined when they cost me about $3300 together. I still have 4 and really only use 2 of them the other 2 just sit mostly unused. Looking back on that I could have half paid off a new car or had a decent amount to put on a down payment for a house with all that money. such a waste.

Why do you have so many TVs tho? Last I checked, you weren't a family guy or anything in the slightest. Don't you live alone? A bedroom tv and a living room tv tops, is about all I'd think a single guy would want or need.

Problem is u gotta stop focusing on what's better out there and focus more on what u have. One of my TVs is a Sony LCD I bought in 08-09. I swear to u that shyt still has better overall image quality than an LG 4KTV my parents bought a few months back. My little brother would rather come to my crib and play games on that TV than the 4KTV in his house.

nikka I do audio and video. I used to Calibrate TVs for a living. Over 10 years of experience in installation, calibration, and selling. I could more than likely make UR shyt look better. There's MUCH more to a TV image quality than resolution. And any person that knows they shyt would tell u this. U think people was turning in their 720p Pioneer Kuro's when 1080p LED was the new wave?. NOPE. u have no idea what u talkin bout right now and u should stay in ya lane. And by the way. My 4KTV is legit and it's better than the LCD Sony I was talking about. I have 3 TVs. All of em QUALITY. Wanna know why? I know what I'm doing when I go out and purchase them shyts.

So why buy another one then? :dwillhuh:

Last time I bought a tv was in 2008. I finally copped a new TV last week. It's a 55 inch Samsung curved joint. Same shyt the Coli was raving about. I had buyer's remorse immediately after buying it but I justified it because I've waited 8 years to cop a new tv.

That's called cognitive dissonance
