-While I agree with the sentiment here I think people are looking at it like: Those other people won't speak out for us anyway. If they get taken first doesn't matter since we're already on our own now.

Blacks have had voting rights since 1867 they gonna repeal that too and take us back into slavery? lol. Nah. Not happening. Scare tactics won't work. HYON
No intent to fear mongering but just really wondering why you can say "Nah". Not saying whether I personally think that is happening but I'm always fascinated people state definitively that something can't happen. Why not?

I always remember the saying that "Society is just civilized barbarism". Nothing is incapable of ever happening again. Laws and all these rules only work when most of the society agree to play along. But that is not always a guarantee. The fact you had a bunch of cacs of all backgrounds encouraged by the president to over throw the government last year should be enough to let you know that the threat of sizeable amount of people in the US who are no longer interested in playing by the rules and they had law enforcement, politicians, wealthy, poor, and powerful people of all stripes and color white supporting it.

Slavery in the US didn't exist before 1619. There was something that convinced the society to go from no slavery to enslaving black people.

Do you think black people would just passively accept becoming slaves if it we’re tried?

Fake liberal scare tactic
Cases already on the docket for the next term with decisions coming either end of this year or next year.
October Term 2022 - SCOTUSblog

Cases Not (Yet) Set for Argument
Students for Fair Admissions v. University of North Carolina, No. 21-707
Issue(s): (1) Whether the Supreme Court should overrule Grutter v. Bollinger and hold that institutions of higher education cannot use race as a factor in admissions; and (2) whether a university can reject a race-neutral alternative because it would change the composition of the student body, without proving that the alternative would cause a dramatic sacrifice in academic quality or the educational benefits of overall student-body diversity.

Students for Fair Admissions Inc. v. President & Fellows of Harvard College, No. 20-1199
Issue(s): (1) Whether the Supreme Court should overrule Grutter v. Bollinger and hold that institutions of higher education cannot use race as a factor in admissions; and (2) whether Harvard College is violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act by penalizing Asian American applicants, engaging in racial balancing, overemphasizing race and rejecting workable race-neutral alternatives.
You can think the rulings will not be against it but it's not really a scare tactic. It's already been planned for. You just needed to pay attention. Shout out to Edward Blum finally achieving his decades long dream.

Affirmative Action is next up imo as a must do issue for conservatives while they control the court. Abortion was unsurprisingly number 1. The federalist society and all these monied men on the right didn't spend all this influence and money on getting court seats without at least getting rulings in their favor on the biggest issues. These new judges can vote however they want on many issues but they are put up there with the understanding they will take on a few issues that Republicans are zealots about.

-Abortion
-Affirmative Action
-Prayer in School
-Limitation of the federal government reach and expansion of state rights (this is less specific and can encompass any number of things.)

These people weren't put in the court to do anything else but deliver wins on these issues. Gays are worried about Gay marriage but to the right's credit, they have kind of given up on that one. You have outwardly gay far-right personalities now as long as they fuel hate of others. Kind of like black Republicans do with the black community

It’s all fun and games when they attack women and LGBT but they’re coming for civil rights and affirmative action too. Nothing to joke about here.

:mjpls:
We don’t have either of those anyways you liberal c00n.

Nope. People will die on both sides. BUT, black people have a major disadvantage against most groups right now due to our current condition. I'm not even talking about numbers and if anything I think that is our smallest disadvantage. We are too fractured as a community. If anyone reading this disagree, just make sure you're disagreeing on a logical level not emotional one.

The Jews during the holocaust put up some resistance such as uprisings in the Warsaw ghetto and various resistance activities that killed some Germans. But the reality is that relatively they were food and couldn't compete with Nazi brutality and violence. Also, the harm they caused fighting back wasn't enough to overcome the zealous belief Germans felt that they need to be eradicated. That was a price the Germans were willing to pay for a "higher cause". If some Germans have to die in exchange for killing every jew in Europe, it was worth it. It helped that the Germans spent a little over a decade disempowering them through laws, social and economic exclusion, and displacement into ghettos before moving to the final stage of extermination. Some people saw the writing on the wall all the way in 1932 and fled immediately. But a good number either though "that will never happen" when people pointed out this is a way to setup future extermination or they didn't have the means to flee. We know the US is not above doing any of those things that I mentioned above.
