If he played at UCLA for a year and was solid, he'd get drafted. Lavar overplayed his hand and didn't give the boys a chance to prove themselves. Daddy wanted to leverage Lonzo's success into getting the other two over, but he moved too quickly. Honestly should have let LiAngelo go overseas (after the incident in China) and then had LaMelo stay in the U.S. and get a year at a top school. He was trying to get the bag but wanted to limit their risk/exposure. Probably more confident in Lonzo's ability than the other two....especially LiAngelo.
He wasnt getting pt at ucla like that

Uh, yeah, yeah it does :dahell:

Especially since over there they don't have the shortened 3 point line. In college its usually harder to project who will be an elite shooter because of it. Ingram shot 40% from 3 in college and struggled to replicate that in the NBA even when wide open because the line is further away.

Say what you want about gelo but you know dude is gonna run to the 3 point line, spot up and knock down a shot. All that other shyt aint translatable tho.

He would be a late 2nd round pick if he wasn't Lavar's son most likely:yeshrug:

As it stands, he's just not good enough to justify teams dealing with the baggage that comes associated with the kid. Won't be surprised if he doesn't get drafted.

He can play.

But he's undersized for his skillset, imo. If he was say 6'8 he could project to be a Paul Millsap type player (not saying he's that good obviously).

He doesn't have the handle or explosiveness to be a shooting guard.

He clearly has skills, but he's just not athletic enough to guard most wings. He's very slow. Still, he's doing better than a lot of higher ranked guys like Billy Preston in Europe. He has a definite future in Europe as an undersized 4.

As for getting drafted, there are guys who get drafted at the end of the 2nd as a favor to an agent or to a player on the team. Maybe the Lakers will grab him with their pick in the middle of the 2nd.
