To me it's the GOAT album. His progression from RTD to LAD as an artist was crazy. I didn't think he could make a better album than his first but he did. My favorite off the CD

I always thought this was his best album! He really improved as a rapper...his wordplay and flow were from another planet....with this album he soldified the number one spot..

I know it's Hip-Hop blasphemy, but I prefer this over RTD
biggie was a better mc on life after death. he was more skilled at his craft on life after death.
on ready to die he was more unfiltered and raw. although those imperfections he had yet to conquer like his vocal tone for example, (on ready to die) are what make that album, that album. same goes for life after death. but i get why some people favor one over the other

No doubt his debut is a classic on its own, but he'd perfected his craft by Life After.

I don't get how anyone talks about this album without talking about the intro and Somebody's Gotta Die...that lead in to the song and the song itself make it one of the greatest openings to an album of all time...the storytelling in that song is just CLASSIC.

Yeah it sets the tone to the whole album. You rarely hear intros that good with as much detail as BIG put in.
