I'm so glad I didn't read this whole thread.....lol I've reached the age where stuff doesn't even make me mad anymore I just let the dumb, def and blind congregate amongst themselves. Most of the boards are very young though...I'm like 26 (an old 26, my oldheads, friends and mentors are like hip hop legends and people who are like actually on) lol
and im older than you, "old for my age" and im down with mad people who are "actually on" as well.
save this weak approach for actual noobs.
So it's a classic because of everything BUT the music? All of the versatility he displayed did not translate into the best of track type "X"
exactly.
these dudes dont want to hear that tho.
"Life After Death" has nothing in common with "AEOM" outside being Double Disc. Tupac ain't spittin no midwest style flow, Tupac didn't have the type of Storytelling Big had. Tupac did not have no hard core lyrical joints like Kick in the Door or 10 Crack Commandments that Backpackers could like. "AEOM" sounded like a Westcoast album. Most of the beats were by 1 Producer, Johnny J. Biggie had tracks that appealed to every single coast based on the style of beats, there was more versatility in Big's production. "LAD" is way more versatile sound wise and Lyrically than AEOM. Also LAD only expanded on formulas from Ready To Die. So No LAD was not modeled after AEOM. It was modeled after RTD. So yes Rappers ala Jay and NaS and plenty others copied LAD blueprint as far as style and production. The only thing Pac did more of was conscious songs and on AEOM he went away from a lot of the conscious songs from his 1st 3 albums.
man, all i was saying was that biggie wasnt doing anything new. he didnt reach new grounds of versatility at all. and pac had already mastered most of the songs that big was trying to do. and i wasnt even talking about AEOM.
and big's versatility is so overstated. he does a west coast track. but we ignore the fact that the chit was weak. he does a midwest double-time track where you claimed in the other thread that he mastered bone's flow, when in reality he couldnt even grasp it properly.
etc etc etc
An album doesn't obtain Classic status without an overwhelming Majority agree that it is. You making it like it's 60/40 or 50/50. It's more like 80/20, 90/10 that's why the album is revered one of the greatest rap albums ever. The album has been sampled LYRICALLY by a ton of rappers from Jay, NaS, Cube, etc, etc, etc. What rebuttals? I just hear a bunch of "Oh this song wasn't perfect, that song wasn't perfect" that's not a rebuttal. Nobody has yet been able to refute the FACT the album is already viewed as one of the greatest rap albums of all time. Cause that's the consensus already, you see when something is considered a Classic, there's a consensus. So no this album is not Heavily "Disputed" if that was the case it wouldn't be on some many magazine, fans and rappers themselves greatest albums of all time list. Again you are on an island, LAD status isn't questioned.
and like i said, the majority considered it a classic before it even dropped!! thats my f*ckin gripe!! what dont you understand.
your stanning is getting on my nerves. purposely talking in circles and twisting people's statements around.
and i never said it was a 50/50 argument. it dam sure aint 90/10 neither, or else i wouldnt bother bringing it up. i'd say more like 70/30 or 65/35.
its a classic in the same vein of GRODT. only difference is, 50 is still alive so people who fell for the hype and finally woke up, have no problem turning on it.
**prepares for this dude to do a u-turn and start the argument back over from square one, repeating the same stuff that was shut down on page 5**
