When Partlow put the paws on Bug's dad (rightfully so) with the ferocity he did, it made me realize EVERYONE, no matter how calm, collected or together their shyt appears to be, EVERYONE has a trigger in them. A breaking point, a switch that when flipped, unleashes hell. Watch who you fukk with and how you fukk with them.

There's a time and a place to exit the game, walk away from the table, etc. When the opening comes, take it. Sometimes, tragedy is what it takes for you to find your place in the world. Ask Prez.

Don't give a fukk when it is not your turn to give a fukk.

It could be argued that Omar somewhat lost sight of who he was, what he was about and why he was what he was in his quest for vengeance against the Barksdales (they shot at his grandmother, don't blame him) and his fukkery in all of that is what ultimately led to Kenard (of ALL people) bodying him. If you have a code or a certain way of living, don't compromise that if you can at all help it.

Slim Charles showed that sometimes, shyt as simple as staying in your lane and playing your role to the best of your ability sometimes gets you what you deserve.

No quotes but S4 tells you everything you need to know about the inner city educational system and how blacks (and Hispanics) are systematically fukked.
My sister works for CPS in Englewood & watching season 4 made me think of what she must face daily... I hope it was extra for dramatic effect, but I've heard the Wire is very realistic.... :to: I weep for the inner city school system across the nation.

I wish non-blacks would stop comparing everyone to us. No other minority has come into this country and got everything they ever wanted so quickly (hispanics). Stop with this bullshyt narrative that Hispanics are equal to us in oppression. Half of Hispanics can pass as white. No plight compares to black plight.

As someone who has been involved in the teaching profession I gotta say you're wrong here. I won't argue who has the worst plight overall. But in terms of the school system in this country, blacks and Hispanics are often regulated to the same school districts and subject to the same abuses: stolen education dollars, teachers who don't care, outdated resources, etc. In terms of pure Hispanic districts it boils down to who is controlling the flow of state money. Hispanic districts in Texas and California are getting gutted by racist politicians just as racist politicians gut black Chicago districts. The difference might be that at least in California there are districts where Hispanics exert enough political control to make things better. But TBH to there are black districts like that too.

This isn't about who is worse off. It's about poor black and brown kids being robbed of tax dollars.

California and Texas (which most Hispanics reside) are the richest states. Hispanics don't suffer at all, they simply use black plight to make it appear as if they are dealt the same hand we are when in reality they simply choose to infiltrate our environments. Yet and still, they don't face the same obstacles even in those environments.

“I treated you like a son”:lupe:
“I wasn’t made to play the son”:demonic:

Wasn’t a lesson but jsut never understood this plot form the perspective of Joe. His top guy warned him repeatedly about Marlo and his real intentions and Joe chose to ignore it. What did he see in Marlo to believe in him that much. He obviously wasn’t afraid of Marlo. He couldn’t seen something unique in him. Marlo was what he showed. Nothin deep about him. He wa a merciless bloodthirsty power hungry boss.
