:dahell:But who sets the beauty standard that you see on tv, movies, commercials, magazines, newspapers. etc. for decades?

I can guarantee you that is not a black man.
So you let whites dictate who you find attractive and then call it personal preference? Whites also say black men are inferior intellectualy do you subscribe to it too.

We get blamed for eveyting even though we face the same color issues from our women.
The main difference is menn that cry about it are told to shut up.
You are not getting blamed ...you are expected to take accountability for your part in this mess.

If someone puts my hand in the fire one time am I going to continue to blame him/her when I actively put in the fire knowing that I am getting burnt?

Good lord do those hoes ever get tired of that shyt?
Nope, that's why lsa has a subfourm strictly for it.
I bet a bunch of people got banned over there because the conversation got so heated and now they're going to pick up where they left off at this forum. :mjpls:

Oh please no... Thecoli doesn't have a subfourm strictly for such... Let's keep it that way.

Unfortunately, they are the inertia in their own madness...even they themselves prefer to produce lighter children with less apparent "black features."

But the discussion aint supposed to go there :sas1:

The problem is women are not taking any responebilty for thier role.

Fair skin preferences predate western colonization. For certain cultures not related to the west
Can you name some examples? I am aware that in some places colorism came from lower classes being tanned from working in the sun, while upper classes where paler.

I'm focused on black/African communities. I think most people of color, where the average skin color was darker and tanning was less noticeable focused on the amount of fat being seen as more desirable since it meant you had more to eat.

See, everyone judges people based on appearance, however skin color ties into our long history of racism and the dehumanization of black people and other people of color.

White people did more than make a fairer skin color desirable. They made being white desirable and made it seem wrong to be anything else.

Are you black? Because in school kids all the time would make fun of darkskin women and nikkas. Hell even outside of school some black people be on that "no darky" bullshyt.

In school they would pick on people for being too tall, too short, too fat, too skinny, too developed, not developed, too smart, not smart enough, being too rich, too poor, too mean, too nice, etc.

We're all adults now and past that petty bullshyt.

Colorism is not petty bs or else we wouldn't be talking about the unemployment rate of blacks vs non-blacks or the marriageability of women of certain complexions. These things have ramifications that extends and bars people from certain circles. This ish is deadly and the more people downplaying thr more this stuff creates animosity.
@Phoenix_Knightly23 even pointed out...darskinned wonen are shown single with kids in commercials while their lighter female counterparts are married. This ish is deliberate and toxic.

Please explain what point I'm missing, I'm really trying understand this?

You might not be guilty of colorism, and black men and people as a whole are not in control of media, however, there is a segment of black men who are extremely color struck. And men have a monopoly over women when it comes to that, y'all are in control of what's deemed attractive and what's not in your communities. So black men shouldn't feign ignorance when it comes to this shyt, they should do they part in eradicating colorism within our community.

Yes I saw those c00n and I also saw female c00ns in the doc as well but you didn't call them out.:rudy:

And I like how some of ya'll women, choose some c00ns to generalize all black men, but have a female c00n doing some stupid shyt in the media and ya'll coming with "She doesn't represent us all black women, stop generalizing.:damn:".

Once again how is this black men fault, we did not start this doc, last time I check it was Oprah, so why shes and other c00n females not getting blamed?:stopitslime:

Boom. This is why they arent being taken seriously and Im to say fukk em. Let em rot. They sit up here and try to use these documentaries as a weapon to generalize black men for THEIR p*ssy ass insecurities and weakness. They went right past and ignore each female c00n and wanted to single out the black men? Are you surprised? :what:

I say they need to woman up and deal with their own issues and weaknesses. Thats no one's problem other than their own.
