In your defense, it's a common misconception which has caused a lot of families especially black families over the years to lose the land and everything on it. The worst part about it is that in some places, the taxes aren't even that much a year.

A lot of generational wealth has been lost because of not paying property taxes especially with land that was eventually sold to factory developers.

State/Federal/Sales/Etc tax should cover that..... property tax for schooling is actually outdated and based on racist principles.... there is no need for a government entitty to tax land that I own and purchased... You're the one that sounds foolish actually.
