I fully understand why they did get attention, and they deserved that attention
I just feel like all murders should be treated equally and receive the same type of recognition.
But unfortunately thats not the type of world we currently live in.
People love sensationalism, which is why these stories get focused on by the media and why people get emotional over certain cases and want to protest
(due to the long racist history in America directed towards people of color/slavery which can evoke deep emotions, etc), while completely ignoring others that happen right in your own backyward
Its basically the
"I can smack my little brother in the face but u can't" mentality taken to a deadly extreme.
(I can kill my own people but you can't)
Which is a comprehensible stance
(on some level) yet obviously flawed perspective to have
All life is precious and all murders deserve equal protest
