I’d agree with most of this timeline far as popularity…except for the last line in bold in regards to when cats started hyping him as a legit beast….the beginning of Wayne going from being seen as “young star with potential” to “this nikka might be the coldest in the game” and the formation of his OG stanbase 100% started with the Sqad tapes…them shyts basically help pay for my caprice :russ:….. ”mixtape Wayne” basically became a thing when this dropped…to where they started playing his mixtape freestyles in clubs and at sets/sips/functions like the shyt was a official single


You're from Memphis or somewhere deep in the South, right? So I can believe that maybe in your area yall had a higher perception of him. I grew up between California and Virginia, in neither of those places was Wayne seen as a threat until Tha Carter...
