That’s exactly why people say he doesn’t have a classic. Classic album doesn’t have to be on some GKMC/Black Trash type concept album but it has to at least be some kind of cohesive album. That’s one big downfall in Weezys catalogue, probably the closest thing he has is C1. On the influence/straight up spitting side of things he has C1 or C2 in contention but they fall down in other criteria we usually have when talking about classics.

Wayne not making American Gangster on his own. Hell, Jay-Z needed those unused Diddy/Biggie beats to create that moment/cohesion for AG along with the Denzel movie.

Pac recorded tracks and didn't really aim for albums, but he had good people around him.


Kanye can create albums, but then y'all knock him for getting help with some lyrics and beats.


Beyond a couple albums rappers/artist in general probably going struggle to make an album alone. Jay got black album beats, concepts and recommendations from Lupe during black album.


Andre 3000 doesn't even know what to rap about....he playing a flute, lol.



My point is a classic album probably has/had a good team behind it. How much can we judge the rapper?
