I'll say it again, but people in this thread have CLEARLY NEVER listened to Lil Wayne's full discography. I have no problem with people who say he doesn't belong in their Top 10 but it's a problem when half the people here haven't heard a good portion of his shyt

Yeah that shyt just pisses me the hell off man. Bone Thugs, Twista, and Three 6 influenced a lot of the double time tongue twisting style and you don't hear people putting them as top 10. Wayne's influence and run was what it was but most of his influence did bad things for hip-hop. Only dude in his crew that he was better than was Turk. Dude was the only one that was brainwashed enough to stick with Baby and them. Sorry man but I can't roll with the #3 dude in the HB's being top 10 of all time. Dude's best album ain't even on par with Redman, Prodigy, B.G. or E 40's best, and those are second tier or lower rappers. People underrated discography too much; the ability to put together 10-15 or so songs/skits together that are cohesive is an underrated art. If that's what you believe than I'm not gonna say you're an idiot but his influence means spit to me.

Wayne had a good movement with the Carter albums but those albums were overrated as hell. Jay's "retirement" helped dude a lot, but after the Carter 3 dude seemed to misplace his talent somewhere. Maybe it's because I'm older but there are way too many dope artists out there that I respect for their craft for me to put Wayne anywhere in my all time list. People forget that emcees like Redman, Luda, Busta, Bizzy, Ace, Bun B, Ras Kass, Method Man, GFK, E 40, etc. had better discographies, and were overall better lyrically and people consider those people in the top 15-25 or lower echelon. Wayne had timing on his side...his influence did more bad than good in my eyes anyway so that argument is null to me.

This post sums up my thoughts, pretty much.

Also, I identify Wayne with hella struggle bars to be honest. Them shyts be reaching for the moon at times.
