Should we believe Lil Wayne or your dumbass?

I would just say I would like to be remembered as a humble, good soul. A good spirit. A good soul,” Lil Wayne said. “[A] thing like that. You know what I mean? Like a…a Willie Nelson. You know? Just remembered as everybody fukk with you. Like A Snoop Dogg. You know what I mean? Before I used to be shooting for more of a Biggie, Biggie/Pac/Jay type title. I used to shoot for that. But now I think my history already done that. You know what I mean? So, now I just—I wanna just be remembered as ‘Man, that nikka was cool. He did great ass music and that’s who he is. Period.’”

I'm gonna go with Snoop. I don't know how people can even bang with Wayne. I heard Carter II was dope so I put it on. Couldn't get past his voice. Guy sounds like a robot with a speech impediment.

People need to stop being nostalgic, this is very good question.
Wayne is a bigger godfather to the generation that came after 05-06 (a decade now), than Snoop was to the generation that existed from 93-03, Cali nearly disappeared after Snoop. While the south and the handful of southern copies and autotune copies have been multiplying for a decade now.

This is a really tough call for me, it's hard to separate the time difference.
"He influenced Wayne, so he automatically had more influence" is weak, Weber influenced Einstein has he had more influence? Someone influenced Jesus, has that person been more influential than Jesus? Jaz-O influenced Jay-z, has Jaz-O had more influence than Jay-z?

Snoop was instrumental in commercializing gangster hiphop in 92-93 together with Dr. Dre and later on Biggie Smalls, which indirectly and directly influenced rappers. That influence is hard to compete with. Wayne has had direct influence that influenced the past 10 years. People sounding exactly like him, singer/rapper although you can't sing, auto-tune rap, tattoos and dreads, shytting out mixtapes just like him and just the type of music he made.

Exactly man, Snoop's influence is embedded deep in hip-hop. He is a major part of hip-hop history and was instrumental in introducing hip-hop to a wider audience and helped establish the West-Coast and G-Funk/Gangsta rap as a huge force in the game.

And his image as a gangster that likes to party and fukk, I haven't seen that anywhere since (like, ahem, the guy he's being compared with):mjlol:

Helped Dre similarly in the 90s as Eminem did in the 2000s, in that he was the first signed artist to really helped establish Dr. Dre's label. Even there aren't any Snoop 2.0s out there at the moment, he's responsible for a lot of the hip-hop you hear today.
