Man Ive heard this excuse and Im not sure Im buying it. I dont see what changing his album name has to do with anything, so he can only sell records when he names his shyt Carter?

Rebirth didnt go plat cause it was a rock album, if the beatles in their heyday went all the way left and tried to release a country album im sure they would see a massive decline in their sales too. And the first IANAHB is basically plat but he was in jail when that album came out, I didnt even know it was coming out when it came out and they werent able to put a full promotional effort behind it same thing kinda happened to T.I. with No Mercy.

IANAHB2 isnt a flop by any stretch of the term but it's showing Wayne is losing some fanfare.

That's not an excuse it's pretty much fact. Other than the Carter series and the Block is Hot has Wayne gone platinum on? IANAHB is being hyped by some as being a platinum album but it came out almost three years ago so of course it should be plat by now.

Rebirth leaked like 3 months before it came out in stores and I am not a human being was not only announced and released while he was in jail with no real promo and was meant to be a ep with a digital only first week. Can't compare them to ianahb2

IANAHB 2 had a flopped first single for Wayne's standards in My Homies Still but then he caught lightning in a bottle with No Worries with a strong third single with bytches love me. But point blank I think the album can be talked about on the same level as those two cause it wasn't pushed as a major project from Wayne till the third single hit with Future. But I still stand by the fact that if it isn't a Carter album then Wayne is a gold selling artist at best. Promotion or not.

Not all albums that are out for 3 years have sold MILLION like ianahb2 did though. Every wayne album since C1 has sold a million or more except a rock album (obvious flop) and the most recent (wayne losing star power)

yeah but wayne could pull it off cuz deep down past all the money and fame he's from the hood. drake isn't and him trying to act street only makes him look worse.

as much of a fruit ball wayne is now he grew up in new orleans and rolled with the diplomats early in his career. he had the streets on fire for years. his real nikka card isn't in question.
