Wayne really didn't back down.
He stuck to his guns.
Didn't give up.
Sacrificed 4 years of his career for freedom and the money he was owed.
He stayed relevant through features and did mad festivals and shows.

Now we byke and can tour and drop music on spotify :blessed:

How can yall hate? :wow:

I thought yall were all about black freedom and ownership?

Lil Wayne has emerged victorious in his ongoing legal battle with Birdman, Cash Money Records, and Universal Music Group and we’re told he walked away with a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE settlement.

Oh, and get ready for “Tha Carter V.”

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Wayne’s attorney, Howard King, filed a notice with the court on May 23 that all sides are ready to dismiss the lawsuit.

Our sources say Universal wrote a big check to settle the suit and none of the money came from Birdman. As for the amount, we’re told it is “well over $10 million.”

We are told that Universal was comfortable with the massive payment because they believe they will recoup the profits from Drake and Nicki Minaj going forward — a major part of what Wayne was suing over.

As part of the arrangement, Lil Wayne is now officially done with Cash Money and the infamous “Tha Carter V” album will now be put out by Universal.

Weezy originally sued Birdman’s label, Cash Money Records, to have his record deal voided. He accused the label of owing him tens of millions of dollars, including an $8 million advance for “Tha Carter V,” plus $2 million once the album was finished.

As The Blast first reported, even though Lil Wayne and Birdman were seen hanging out together a few times back in March, the two were still “very hostile” towards each other and there is “no relationship” between them.

I remember when the pdf of the a lawsuit was posted on this site...

shyt was :wow:

Wayne had a gawd tier deal on paper and at some point Cash Money said fukk what is written in this contract and pretty much stopped following every rule...

Even if you get a great deal you can still get jerked :wow:

Sad fact of business. Contracts are rarely worth the paper they’re printed on if either party decides to get on the fukk shyt.

He may still resign lol

I still see Wayne's twilight career and life ending badly though, he has no money management skills, and a quickly fading talent, appeal.

I have liked his music since 98 or 99 when I was 14 or so, and it's a shame who he became in the industry, "Black Lives Matter....I don't know what that means Miss Katie" but some of his music will always be close to me, because of the memories, esp. of Tha Carter in 2004 or 500 Degreez in 02 and 03.

If you've listened to his recent tape and features, you would know he's still lyrically sharp as he always was.
