Winning a settlement is one thing, collection of that settlement is another.

With said congrats to Wayne. I hope they pay him the money he is owed ASAP.

tune a legend for all he contributed

but he's washed

bro is stuck on some lil shyte

he's a old man now but his music hasn't grown at all

*

I don't think he's washed.

But I agree that we need mature content at this point in his career.

But FWA album was mature compared to his mixtape content so I have faith!

UPDATE: Lil Wayne's attorney Ron Sweeney of Sweeney, Johnson & Sweeney LLC has confirmed the rapper reached a settlement with Cash Money Records, issuing the following statement: "Per our settlement agreement, the matter has been amicably resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. In terms of the particulars, we’re prohibited legally from saying anything further. I can say that my client is happy. He is his own man, a man that owns his assets, his music and himself. At some point, Wayne will let his fans know what’s going to happen next."

Lil Wayne Reaches Settlement in Lawsuit Against Cash Money

I'm about to cry :to:

This is huge.:blessed:

Only thing that would have made this news better is if he actually got his proper royalties from Drake/Nicki but Universal was never gonna let that happen :sadcam:

To be fair...they aint about to tell us every detail. I'm sure that portion has been worked out as well.

So Wayne goes strictly to Universal now, and got an 8-figure settlement. Less than what he was seeking?

Does Wayne own his back Cash Money/Young Money catalog and publishing?

Or does he have a clean slate and will own everything from this point forward?

Most likely the latter. Same thing happened to TLC. All their publishing belongs to LaFace/Arista, while Pebbles owns the name TLC. They were given a clean slate after their third album but who is checking for them well past their peak. Same scenario with Wayne

:ohhh:

If this is true, really, it looks like Slim and :birdman: won.

Worst-case scenario for them: Wayne blows up again and his back catalog is worth even more that Slim and :birdman: will continue to eat off.

Wayne really didn't back down.
He stuck to his guns.
Didn't give up.
Sacrificed 4 years of his career for freedom and the money he was owed.
He stayed relevant through features and did mad festivals and shows.

Now we byke and can tour and drop music on spotify :blessed:

How can yall hate? :wow:

I thought yall were all about black freedom and ownership?
Im pretty sure most of these ... are white.
