It depends on income, and ambition. A man working a retail job isn’t going to have the same ability to save as a man with a better paying job. Plus, the retail employment (not retail ownership) may be a sign of not wanting better for himself.
People always have the ability to save, the real test is keeping your expenses low, having likeminded people both work towards an objective.

I make 63K now but I saved more when I was making 10K less than what I am making now because I have a car payments and insurance and some loans.
But I still save money because live at home with my parents we all bring in an income and now we can purchase a new home. Sell the house with the built up equity and my parents can give me some money and I can then buy my own home.

That’s group economics but when you don’t have a strong family unit, you can’t benefit from this. And that where gmb lose.

Stop with this "it's all in your head" nonsense.

Do not insult my intelligence.

$10,000 cash ain't some small thing. $10,000 amongst a family of people ain't some small thing.

And this is what she was leaving out;

Ya'll still think we're where we're at because we don't work smart/hard enough.

Start here;

The wig business and the explosion of the wig business in South Korea in the 1960s is instrumental to understanding the Korean ownership of beauty supply stores. According to the book “On My Own: Korean Businesses and Race Relations in America”, the rise of the YH Trade wig manufacturing company was significant. Founder Yung Ho Chang, conceived the idea of the company while working as the vice-director of Korean Trade Promotion Corporation in the U.S. Between 1965 and 1978, his company exported $100 million worth of wigs.

Black people come together and put more than 10K together for church but you can’t find 10 family members to gather 5K or 10K that’s just pathetic.

More likely you guys are selfish and think only of self gratification if you are incapable of doing that.

Unfortunately group economics and co-op thinking has long been wiped out of the African American mind set. This is an everyday thing in Nigerian culture and is the main driver of the success many Nigerians and other Africans see when they come to this country.

I live on the south side of Chicago and just getting 10 people together in the neighborhood to pick up the trash or attend community meetings is a problem. Not to talk of pooling 100 stacks together and trusting 1 a breh to flip that into something that the rest of us can eat off of.

There lies the problem.

Even when you were making 10k less you still were making way above the majority of Black Americans. I don't believe people are realizing that it's not that people aren't willing to save it's that they don't have the stability to do so at a rate that will make a significant difference. I mean just look at what's happening right now where you have millions of Americans who can't even pay their rent and the stay at home orders have been in place in most areas less than a month!!

The overall point is there is easily enough black people to pool together $100k

The only issue is culture.

i started making 25K when I finished college working part time. Again, keeping your expenses low...and pooling your income. Is the key...everyone makes 25K each and there are three people thats 75K.
You spread your income over the expenses you do have and you find room to save and work hard to increase your income at all costs.

I am sorry but these are just excuses...I am willing to bet the people you claim can’t do it have no self discipline in life....whether it be finances...choices of partners...not being choosy on when they decide to have children....keeping toxic/bad influence relatives or friends around. When you have a goal you have to be choosy with the company you keep and you can’t do it alone.

BP will have a discussion for days about how they can't do something yet won't spend a minute actually trying to accomplish it.

Group economics is achievable but only for people actually trying to achieve it. BP are too concerned about being better than the next person than to actually work with them.

Years ago I thought it would be a great idea to start a podcast of popular coli members. Because i consider the jokes...just jokes and it would be easy to play off of that on the cast.

As I was about to pitch the idea one of the people I had in mind started stalking me trying to distribute my personal information on this forum. Then ya'll spent a week calling me ugly, giving out my personal information and some still to this day run behind my posts. So I moved on to another idea. I realized then that the majority of BP are lost and have a deep hatred for themselves and one another.

Fast forward today dude spends all of his free time shytting on others...nothing productive.. just talking about other people.

I realized then to start just looking out for myself. Trying to help or uplift or build with a group of people to will tear you down the first chance they get is a waste of time.

Just case in point this site complains about black men lack of opportunities yet the coli generates a lot of income for the owners of this site. There are people from all walks of life who come to this site. People can always leverage opportunities if they are committed to stick to a plan.

That’s why I mentioned earlier about finding your “group”...

This.

The issue in the Black community everyone is trying to out shine each other. Most are not willing to make some sacrifices to move forward.

And you hit the nail on the head with the last paragraph. Perfectly stated.

You can start a black business that serves black people, and nikkas will still go to the Asian business.

This is cultural and mental. We are programmed to destroy ourselves. I tried to explain it in another thread about rap music but nikkas didn't want to accept it.

The answer or starting point to this is 70%-80% of black people need to be cut off. They are dead weight. :yeshrug:
