i don't think anyone really knows what a culture vulture is (besides for certain obvious examples) and people are gonna throw the phrase around like they do industry plant.

There are 2 kinds of culture cultures

1. The basic cultural appropriation types who genuinely like the form and gives props to the true pioneers and greats of the form. It just so happened that they weren't born into the culture that produced the music they like




2. Only doing it because it's trendy and then look to hop on some other musical bandwagon

Culture vultures are usually old white jewish men eating off of a certain genre specifically (soul, r&b, rock & roll & hip hop) that they no nothing about and hate.

You can't be a culture vulture if your passionate about your craft whether you're a rapper or a singer.

If you're using other ethnic or social groups language, fashion, or art to build an identity for yourself then that makes you a culture vulture.
