2pacalypse now and Strictly for my nikkaz went gold and went platinum between the time Pac got HUGE with Death Rown and when he died.

2pac on his first 2 records was a second tier rapper under Ice Cube, Ice-T, Dre & Snoop, etc. . .

He had a very solid fanbase, though and was always close to becoming huge. Plus, he was a movie star, remember, a lot of his fans came from out of that and people who knew him from that would buy his records.

Me Against The World was his 1st no. 1 album and he just kept getting larger from there.
