Most of these stories are basically victims of the same fate as 99% of stories, they get overshadowed by the latest story. And some of these stories really needed no follow up. Just because they didn't go the way of some high profile story that still gets talked about doesn't mean it was swept under the rug.

People tend to embellish that the 90's had zero tolerance for a lot of what gets a pass today. Pretends and phonies were exposed left and right in the 90's and artists still had careers after the fact.

Dre told the world he didn't smoke weed or cess and then dropped the biggest weed album of all time AND made a SEQUEL. He had Eazy E and Pac calling him out for being a homo and allegations that he didn't make his own beats, and still had a successful career.

Biting was once the biggest no-no in Hip Hop and The Source labeled Puffy and Jermaine Dupri the biggest biters EVER and in the same issue Puffy & The Hitmen were praised as GOAT producers.

This is kinda obscure but back in 2014 there was a rumor that Kendrick had beaten a woman at a hotel into a bloody pulp at a hotel. The story never really reached mainstream press, and was instead reserved to a local news site and a youtube video of an alleged witness.

I don't believe it happened but I always found it interesting that a year later when TPAB came out, there was a song on it that depicted him being drunk and violent in a hotel, where his morbid monologue is interrupted by a maid. It's an open secret but Kendrick has battled alcoholism, and I wouldn't be shocked if he indeed had some type of incident at a hotel that was covered up. Like I said, I don't believe he hurt anyone. But I can def imagine him hurting himself, based on what we know. And having worked at Interscope it's not hard to see them covering it up.

I don't know exactly what the truth is, but I think Guru got really sick during the last years of his life and Solar manipulated/abused him at a time when he couldn't stand up for himself. There was that letter that Guru "wrote" not wanting anything to do with DJ Premier, but it was never confirmed that he was the one who wrote it. There was a big Coli thread about this a while back and from all the stories posted in it, it sounded like a classic abusive relationship story.
