What’s wrong with this song?

You don’t think of it as a cautionary tale?

You gotta remember, the Coli is home to a lot of remedial people. They looked at the song title and never actually clicked play :mjharshreality:

By the same token, J-Zone is a pedophile too for this joint

How stupid can people be? :mjlol:

That said, KRS' comments about neglecting Bambatta's actions simply because he was instrumental in hiphop are all him though :hubie:

As far as I know, and I don't claim to have listened to every interview where KRS has spoken on this, he only said something to the effect of, if he had done these terrible things, it doesn't change the fact that he was a founding father and/or made legendary music. I'm paraphrasing here from memory of a long time ago, so I could be wrong. But I hope not :mjcry:
I don't recall him every coming out and saying that rape/pedophilia was ok.

He pretty much said, "even if he (Bambatta) did do it, so what? He created hiphop!"

This was to a woman that was interviewing him around the time the story gained traction. Had to fall back after that

I thought that was in the context of whether or not he's still a pioneer and legend and all of that. Terrible way to express that though.

That didn't get swept under the rug. It received coverage. What was swept under the rug is the Black girlfriend that he claimed he made the songs about.
it had 0 actual affect on his career so its swept under the rug in the minds of the people.

yes its still an available vid on youtube and anyone can google it so its not swept like a hidden deleted file no one can ever find again. but black and white people both kinda gave Em the :manny:

also i think a majority of people avoided those tapes out of pure hate for Benzino as well as The Source. at the time you had to cop the specific issue of the magazine to even get a copy unlike today. The credibility of The Source was shot at the time and Im sure plenty of people thought it was some Benzino shenanigans.

no black artists stopped fukking with him either. everybody gave him a pass except for people who already didnt like him pretty much.

There’s a shyt ton about Jay Z that I can’t recall. The perception of him is much different these days than it was in the 00s

Just because it didn't affect his career doesn't mean it was swept under the rug. And what I mean by it wasn't swept under the rug, this wasn't something that was only covered by The Source. Every Hip Hop outlet and even the Pop media covered the issue. I remember "Foolish Pride" was played on air for people to hear what Eminem said. They had callers weigh in. The DJ's even weighed in. The story ran its course, but like everything else it became a non factor once the next big story became the hot topic. In Eminem's case, Aftermath and G- Unit had all these beefs that were gaining legs every other day. There was the beef with Ja and Murder Inc. The little skirmishes with Royce. There's Eminem being tapped by Afeni to do some music for the Resurrection project, which believe it or not was also used to combat accusations of Eminem being racist.

Also, what really got swept under the rug was what Eminem was saying on "Without Me". Literally NOBODY talks about that. That and Eminem's alleged Black girlfriend got brushed aside.

OG Juan Perez wife is a rat and Roc Nation top lieutenant. The fact that Jay Z employs snitches and gives them high level positions in his organization is being swept under the rug.

One of the wildest things in hip hop history is how Jay literally is friends with and does business with a DEA informant, and somehow nobody in music has a problem with that or ever brings it up.

Meanwhile nikkas wanted Rick Ross out of rap for being a CO.
