Crazy thread to hate on one of the best groups of the past 20 years and arguably all time because they weren't hugely popular.

Bad look. I'm surprised how many bad takes are in here.

All time? Ahhhaahhaaaha. All time greats are OutKast. Mobb Deep. Dogg Pound. Wu. Bone. UGK. Little Brother is nowhere near those groups.

They have 2 classic albums, and most groups have zero. You're comparing them to the absolute GOAT groups. You know how many groups there's been all time? Hundreds. Thousands.

LB was never insanely popular, but that's zero reflection on the quality of music.

what they do that you don’t like?

also…… per coli Drake is unlikable….. but checking his stats or career is extremely successful

So not sure if like-ability is an important factor.

There are a bunch of folks success that aren’t likeable
Drake had a very likeable public image

Phonte and 9th are both divas whose egos are not in line with their actual accomplishments and pooh is also a prick to fans online when he is a third wheel and very average artist.

Its not a surprise they broke up and couldn't get along with all of their violatile personalities and that documentary they made them look worse with their pettiness.

I can't even really listen to their music anymore after following them on social media for over a decade and seeing how they move.

Question what documentary are you referring to?

That's crazy af bro. I never thought about it like that, but yeah...you're kinda right. 9th did have a run of producer collab albums when no one was really doing that to extent they are now. Al obviously has done way more and with much bigger names, but 9th had all those multiple collab projects with Murs, Buckshot, Jean Grae, Skyzoo, etc.

He had one with Ness that never came out officially that I always thought was fire.

What other producer's underground in the 2000's were doing multiple full projects for people? :ohhh: Common and Kanye. Saigon and Just Blaze. I can't think of many others. Not a lot of one producer one artist full projects back then like there are now.

Thats one thing i’ll always give 9th. Most producers back then after catching fire and producing for the likes of Hov and Beyonce would’ve strictly produced for big acts and made as much money as possible. 9th didn’t do that, he did his DAMNDEST to help out the underground MC’s like Murs, Jean Grae, Skyzoo, etc. He helped Rapsody get her foot in the door. He never abandoned his roots.

9th comes off like the most “unlikable” of the OG Little Brother trio but he helped some really underrated and overlooked rappers make some excellent music.

2 classic albums and possibly a 3rd (Getback), not to mention Chitlin Circtuit & Seperate But Equal which are basically albums too. They actually have one of the best discographies of any group in Hip-Hop IMO. Cant believe some of the things Im reading on this thread, do y'all listen to music or just skim through it?

Not everyone likes the same thing man. You're allowed to not like Little Brother. You calling any of their shyt classic is a bad take. That's been said nowhere besides in their fandom.

That’s straight up not true bro. Source wanted to give listening 5 mics. One of the source writers almost resigned over it. XXL wanted to give minstrel show a xxl rating. For political reasons they weren’t allowed to. Scratch gave minstrel show a perfect rating. These 3 were all still the main publications of the genre in the mid 00’s

Of course you’re allowed to not like them but the idea that no one besides lb fans would call their stuff classic is just incorrect history.

Anecdotal but i've been to two of their concerts (one for foreign exchange) and they were extremely gracious to fans. Chatted with folks, took pics, signed autographs. YMMV I guess :manny: . I can't speak to how they are with industry peers.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Na…. Just cuz you a former actor don’t mean you’re likeable…. There are countless actors that are P.O.S.

and again, he not a US hollywood actor.

He literally just said because he was an actor and can act his way to likeability… did u not that part?

Man you’re gonna go crazy trying to defend LB in here. I had a few rebuttals typed up but people have their opinions. I’ll just agree to disagree
