Don't think it would work with the 3 majors, kinda for the reason you just said. No one is going to care if pass their prime stars go somewhere else and play for big money.
What about a star that's I'm the prime and up for a big contract?

Congress Tees Up New Bill Stripping PGA Tour’s Tax-Exempt Status

:russ:

Saudi Arabia cannot be allowed to sportswash its government’s horrific human rights abuses and the 2018 murder of American-based journalist Jamal Khashoggi by taking over the PGA,” Garamendi said. “PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan should be ashamed of the blatant hypocrisy and about-face he and the rest of PGA’s leadership demonstrated.”
Garamendi, a former college football player and wrestler at Cal, has been a member of Congress since 2009. He previously served as the lieutenant governor of California.

“The notion that the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund would pay zero dollars in taxes on their blood money and potentially billions of dollars in profits while countless American families pay their fair share while struggling to make ends meet is ludicrous,” Garamendi said. “My common-sense legislation would right this wrong and bring some much-needed accountability to this matter.”

Dumbass stand up for my country cacs lost :mjlol:

In Biblical terms they did not lose. Satan tempted Jesus and said he would give Jesus power over all nations and unlimited wealth. Jesus refused what Satan was offering him.

Unfortunately or not, money makes the world go around. Companies will always look out their own best interest financially at the end of the day, so more people should start doing the same.

It's why I always say you have to look for your ownself financially instead of expecting others to look out for you and do the same.

Everyone has a price out here and no one should forget that. If you won't take the bread, then the next man will.

Everyone doesn't have a price. Jesus Christ and the early church fathers for one.

NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
Messi is a caliber dude, that helped alot.
Nothing to do with his character.

The MLS, Adidas and Apple basically offered Messi the kingdom. He essentially has ownership in the league, which undoubtedly will see gains after his announcement.

Not to mention, now he gets to live in Miami as opposed to someplace like Riyadh.

I mean, would you rather have $500mm and live in Miami, or $1bn and live in a desert where even drinking is prohibited?

Is the whole country really dry, or do those with money drink as much alcohol as they want?

lol, and that’s the way that all these groups want it. The Saudis literally have unlimited amounts of money, you can’t even begin to try to assess their worth, the only thing stopping them from asserting their will on everybody else in the world, and becoming completely brazen against their enemies, unchecked, is the optics of allying with the same people that butcher free press, and any dissidents. I am not the one when it comes time to claim America is innocent, not at all, but this will not stop with the PGA. These orgs are gonna start working with hate groups, and far right pieces of shyt, out in the open, and nobody can say shyt about it. It’s just not the direction we should be going in.
2016 was the straw that broke the camels back.

It would not be entirely unbelieveable if part of the deal was telling the Saudis to pay off the guys they had promised to pay off.

On the other hand, since PGA/Saudis have all the power now, they could also tell the players to punch sand.

It would be fukking wild if this somehow led influential players to say "fukk it" and start their own thing. Imagine if more big names than had joined LIV, instead decided to build their own brand. That's not really that many big names they would need, is it?
