It is technically because in this era the only difference is budget, sound and features (sometimes).
There are no more traditional mixtapes they just get dropped as albums these days. Only thing separating COTIs from his previous original music mixtapes is there are no major label artist features or un-clearable sampled beats.

Mixtape and album are interchangeable. It doesn’t matter what it is, it just needs be good enough to tour off of and do shows/merchandise.

Like every artist, they go on different platforms to promote their albums when it drops. The host usually asks whats next, and Banks/any other artist says he has more shyt on the way.
