haha thats hilarious....

Budden is one of the biggest Drake stans of all time. It's kind of weird. He's nicer to Drake than he is to the woman he is with. How is he riding for Drake in EVERY battle but gut punching his unborn child?

That's because early drake was heavily budden influenced in the flow and delivery. Joe loves that so he still ride with him.

I'm talking Drakes first songs not so far gone
I'd say drakes early style was pretty plainly influenced by Jay-Z and Phonte both
of which he has acknowledged as chief influences, Phonte in particular because
he likes his every man style of lyricism.

After he started working with Wayne and the release of 808's and heartbreak
there was a noticeable shift in how he went about writing his songs.
More attempts at crooning/singnig, slower songs etc.

I'm pretty sure Budden keeps track of who all follows and unfollows him on a daily basis.. the guy is rap's biggest attention whore and it isn't even close. For what it's worth though... he does give some funny interviews here and there. :yeshrug:

Threads like this remind me why the booth is the worst section on this forum.

Instead of talking about the actual raps, posters act like male groupies. Talkin bout he's not on jays level! Lil b ended buddens career!

Meanwhile anybody that actually likes the art of rap knows that a) jay and joe have a long history of throwing jabs at eachother b) drake was heavily influenced by budden and they often allude to eachothers lyrics/songs in their verses and c) lil b is a complete joke that never had a career, he recorded his budden diss song after joe turned down working with him then apologized right after.

I'm not here to debate this dog. Check what I said... First songs like city is mine etc its not debatable and Drake himself told budden when he first met him. The Jay Phonte shyt is in 07. I'm taking 05.

Your timeline is off as fukk too. He was singing on comeback season which is before Wayne and Kanye. Kanye influenced so far gone with 808's and Wayne came after that project but was an influence on it too... Drake has 2 mixtapes before that. He been trying out styles for a while.

05 - burden
07 - Jay Phonte
09 - Wayne

Since then he done flows from French, Migos, 2chainz, big Sean etc... He a chameleon

Present Joey Budden is a better rapper than present Jay-Z. Say what you will about his personality or lifestyle choices but Joe Budden never was, is, and never will be ass at rapping.
Stop it and I used to stan Budden. He is uninspiring these days. Mailing in his verses. Even this version of Jay-Z is better than Budden if he goes all in. However, he may be better at battle rapping which is his forte.
