6 of the 12 Steps in the 12 step program

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

So you are a recovering alcoholic and the 12 step program tells u to get closer to God. You go to church and the Preacher/Priest out of no where says:

"Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.
This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."

Jesus is telling you that salvation is in his blood and you're sitting in the pew like:

Jesus' troll game is classic :heh:
Well, most Catholic churches serve wine at communion and Protestant churches usually serve grape juice.
As a Catholic, you can obstain from taking the wine. Even children do and just take the bread wafer.

:what::dahell:

What the hell are you talking about?? First of all...If u are a recovering alcoholic you arent supposed to touch alcohol period....Has nothing to do with getting drunk. That one sip could be a gateway, why would u even say something that foolish.

Second of all....Did u just say that every Sunday they dont have wine?

Dude....U obviously arent qualified to even be in the conversation.

Or maybe you just trolling...Yeah you trolling....... Ha Ha! Good one now GTFO :camby:
fukk them recovering alcoholic rules. If Christ says keep the Passover you better drink in moderation. And I said give me the verse where it says you must drink wine every Sunday or once a week. Jesus made that statement during the Passover. That's the last supper aka feast. That feast is once a year not once a week

Jesus was a jew. He was keeping the Jewish feast that is held once a year

Mark 14:12King James Version (KJV)
12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?

Matthew 26:19
And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

Exodus 12Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
12 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

Why ask me that when I never said there was a verse that said we must drink wine every Sunday?

What does acknowledging the last supper have to do with the fact the church serves wine every Sunday? I'll answer that for you , ABSOLUTLY NOTHING!

Church doesn't serve wine every Sunday. This is the entire basis of my argument

Raised Catholic and communion always came with real wine and wafers every Sunday.
Your congregation had $$$ like that.

Seventh Day Adventists use juice -- not wine. Fundy SDAs ***that I know*** do many things that don't make sense (especially those in the Midwest). Avoid. Don't even google it.
