people still havent figured out some beats are what they are... they make money because you dont have to clear any samples and throw away huge percent of album royalties

I can hear almost any emcee get his shyt off over the cross beat. shyt could be on a ghostface tape, a LOX tape, Snoop etc. It just works and you dont have to kick back 30% of your dough to whoever you sampled

Jay would have sounded good over the shyt tbh ... its got the perfect pace where you can rap double time or slower... whichever style you want to hit it with

Oh yeah, thats another one. 9th is kind of basic as a producer imo, but his blend of samples there, thats one of his best beats.

Yeah I have to confess, I don't hate the Em beat, it kind of works as a blank canvas for a rapper. It definitely isn't something I'd be happy with as a producer though. You can see how many remixes ppl have made of this that work so I'd say its more proof of Nas genius than Em's lack of skill as a producer.

What's so bad about 'Zone Out'? Its a wacky James Brown loop and Nas crew did their thing imo.
