i would imagine they weren't running the amount of addons that we had. tagging, daps...all that stuff is shytty 3rd party code. shyt just last week an exploit for tagging on vbulletin could get your board hacked. not exactly a good long term idea to stay on something that isnt updated.
They actually do have all the features you listed and more. They have been on VBulletin from the start. I can't knock the move but honestly for the reasons stated I don't believe it was necessary. Most of the boards I visit are still on VBulletin and they all have the complex features and a high number of active members. City Data has a million members and they are still on V Bulletin.
As the consumers we will put our trust in you guys that long term this works, but in the future before a radial change it would be good to create surveys and tests before the changes are made just to see the majority view and know what the customers will like or not like. Features such as 'notable' members saying who has a high post count aren't as useful to members as say 'reputation'. It's just important you know what the actual consumers want.
