You are correct. Another board has 70,000 members and 30,000 posts a day and they are still on VBulletin. Vbulletin wasn't the problem.

i would imagine they weren't running the amount of addons that we had. tagging, daps...all that stuff is shytty 3rd party code. shyt just last week an exploit for tagging on vbulletin could get your board hacked. not exactly a good long term idea to stay on something that isnt updated.

Some of the design choices of this forum are dated as fukk. How you gonna come out after the old shyt and look more :flabbynsick:

Looks like 2003 in here. Most of the fonts all over the pages need attention.

what theme and which fonts do you not like?

we can make changes to things but if everyone just says it sucks without being specific, that doesn't really help anybody

Took me a second :heh:

I like the layout and everything, vBulletin was the standard for years across multiple forums. At least this is more modern and the next step. This always happens whenever a large forum changes software, people leave and complain, but most will adjust and the others will probably come back.

It's just like when they change Facebook. Millions of people log on everyday to talk shyt about the site they just logged onto. You nikkas ain't going nowhere. :russ:
or when they change youtube

but the changes are never positive, imo. i mean, i know they spent money on the new software but vBulletin is where it's at

My first impression was :scusthov: just cuz it's so unfamiliar. But nikkas will adjust. At the end of the day it's all about the posts and the loading time. :manny:

They actually do have all the features you listed and more. They have been on VBulletin from the start. I can't knock the move but honestly for the reasons stated I don't believe it was necessary. Most of the boards I visit are still on VBulletin and they all have the complex features and a high number of active members. City Data has a million members and they are still on V Bulletin.

As the consumers we will put our trust in you guys that long term this works, but in the future before a radial change it would be good to create surveys and tests before the changes are made just to see the majority view and know what the customers will like or not like. Features such as 'notable' members saying who has a high post count aren't as useful to members as say 'reputation'. It's just important you know what the actual consumers want.

That's all I think really, for next time.
