that's just the value potential of the deal considering marketing costs....overhead expenses and revenue......Def Jam ever since thier restructuring under Steve Bartels whom recently left in december is very tight with thier budgets......
just less than 1% of that deal is actual capital that goes personally to him...as he stated he recieved a 200k advance
but overall it's still a good deal ...not suprising he got it....his "team" has been RAPING def jam for decades ever since Russell got with CAA when he ventured into his big budget film Nutty Professor
