I agree. On one hand, sure, you can say "Logic is being a p*ssy and he needs to shut the fukk up." However, that's just disregarding the situation because it's someone they don't personally like, and it adds nothing to the conversation. Let's be real. And on the other hand... You can't expect everyone to respond to everything the same way as you, because we all have different upbringings and different crosses we have to bear. Logic is someone who's wanted to be accepted in this culture for so long, so it's no surprise to see Joe's words leaving an effect on him. nikkas keep saying "You wouldn't have survived in the 90s" as if the 90s didn't have rappers killing each other regularly instead of civil discourse. Obviously, it's way more complicated than just having a simple sit-down in those days, but you get the idea. We lost TWO GOATs that still transcend this culture to this day because of how shyt went down back then, so while the statement might be true... We've also progressed past that for a reason.
People want the license to say whatever it is they want and then act surprised when consequences occur. We can't be talking about advocating for mental health in Hip Hop, but then go and say "fukk Logic because he's being soft", that's exactly what ends up causing issues in the first place. Am I saying "walk on eggshells and never share your opinion"? Never that, but Logic has equally as much right to share his opinion as Joe does. How many rappers have we lost recently due to drug overdose because of them wanting to numb the pain of depression? How many rappers suffer in silence because they feel if they speak out about how they feel, they'll get ridiculed like how Logic is being ridiculed right now? And how do we know Logic isn't being sincere about his depression? It shouldn't have to take him attempting his life for people to take it seriously.
Optimally? Logic should've taken what Joe threw at him and had the attitude of "fukk you, I'll show you I belong in this culture by putting out the best music I've ever made... And win the accolades you could never achieve.

" After all, that's the typical rapper response. And, that's essentially the energy Eminem has for Budden and Lord Jamar. But if Logic's mind wasn't right and lacked the heart to go down that path, there's not much that can be done. While "Peace Love Positivity" is a great mantra to go by, there's times when you have to show people not to fukk with you, because they will absolutely try you. Joyner crossed multiple boundaries with him and he didn't really respond. Even Drake had to body Meek, and Drake coined the whole "diss me, you'll never hear me reply for it" thing. His mantra made him look passive, and that's why people keep trying him.
Regardless though, these are words from a man who's felt frustrated enough to retire. Time and again, rappers and singers alike have said how cutthroat the industry is, so it's better he walks out on his terms instead of leaving because he can't chart anymore.
