That's not what you said initially and you compared his "self-awareness" to someone who made his career biting others.

No I just don't take technical lyricism and put it in a vacuum and act like that's the most important aspect of music. The combined final product from the beat to the flow to the lyricism matters.

You and I are basically saying the same thing in different ways. The end product is more important than any single ingredient that contributes to it. People like Ross and Jeezy aren't lyrical wordsmiths but their final product is good. As an artist it's more important that your finished product is interesting than a listener hearing your complex multisyllabic rhymes.

So he's a great lyricist with trash flows and beats? Because there's a lot of talk of his "persona" and not actual aspects of music. And if that was his musical profile I doubt he'd have success.

I have not heard a Logic but when I do hear a song, I'm not blown away but I am refreshed that somebody wants to rap and I haven't heard a trash beat. So this has to be more about his persona and content, the latter of which is no more relatable than 90% of the artists we find "entertaining."

He can. It's an unpopular opinion but Logic is a really good rapper. Under Pressure is such a dope song.

Joe is just being a hater and is wrong on this one. He's picking on Logic cuz he's a nice guy. And all I say all of this as a Budden stan.
