Yeah but you completely missed the end part of my post where I said houston got him because it benefits them as much as him. He's marginal, but hus popularity will make it more than worth the money they are paying him. Nate Robinson cant do that neither can j.r. Despite being much better players than him. I think just about everybody sees this as pure marketing at this point.

:beli: show me the figures that he's had as much of an impact so that the money is worth it. You don't know what jr smith is worth either ! Trying to justify a bad contract by your reasoning is silly and only feeds into why people don't like Lin .

Breh, I'm talking about tapping into the asian market, I really think their whole line of thinking was based on jeremy lin bringing in tge kind of financial impact that yao ming did. His worth to them has a lot to do with how good he plays but even beyond that you are talking about one of the biggest asian communities in the us in houston.

This shows what lin's inpact was to the knicks and what houston could hope to achieve by signing lin. Again, from a performance standpoint it's a terrible deal but his worth to them a business decision because we all knew he wasnt great. Most of the nba did too which is why only houston agreed to pay him that much.

Houston wants to win. If that's the case there would be a Chinese player coming off the bench on every team. Ming at least was top 5 at his position. Lin is a product of media hype and its like brushes over his flaws like its nothing. If the rockets don't trade for harden more attention would have been on Lin and he would've crumbled under the pressure.

:yeshrug: I agree, that's why I said a lot of his impact depends on if he pans out. So far it hasnt worked like they want tho.

Ya'll are some straight vultures :russ:

Is 13 ppg, 3 rpg, 6 apg, 1.6 steals with a 44% field goal percentage and a 78% free throw percentage THAT bad?

It's not amazing numbers but it's not bad numbers either. He was the starting PG for a team that made the playoffs afterall.

yeah, but he plays for the most wide open offenses in the league

his numbers are a little misleading. we've gotta stop giving so much weight to stats

his game has the same holes he had when he was putting up all star numbers during that stretch
