I owe 15,700 on my undergrad....and 2800 on another semester I took while I was rehabbing from surgery

Im not in too too deep...but got damn I couldve been bad, and Ill be paying these off for a long ass time...i just try my best to budget it in. My parents definitely helped me out....but its a god damn shame what I know a lot of people got into. Some of these dudes REALLY thought they were doing there thing...taking out loans to "be the first from their family to go to college"....getting out with damn near 100K in debt, and can barely find a job

they tricked us :mjcry:

Of course since this is the coli it's their fault for not being financially literate or being economics major as soon as they left the womb.

That interest accrues monthly or daily just like with credit cards and taxes, she's probably still paying mostly interest and hadn't even put a dent in the principle. If she's paying the minimum payment off she'll never get it paid off. Interest isn't a percentage of what's owed on the initial loan, it's a percentage of what the balance is at the end of the month, actually it accrues daily. So if she got a 50k loan at like 10% she'd be at damn near 30k just in interest on top of the initial 50k loan which would take at least 10 years to pay off if she paid like 650 a month which she obviously hadn't.

Naahhh bruh. I just did the calc. Even a 20 year loan at 10% interest would only be 15k in interest. She should've put a bigger dent than 5k on that principal already. 650 at 4 years alone is over 30k paid off. At worst she should be at 35k, not even including the other years she paid off.

But I don't get people who cry about student loan debt. Yea it'd be nice if tuition was much cheaper, but life comes with risks. A degree holder makes on average 25k more than a HS diploma holder. That's 2000 more a month, or a million more over the course of a 40 year career.

Just gotta be smart with your major choices. No one can protect your from your own stupidity. People with 70k art/psychology degrees gotta take the L

Borrow twenty five, fifty, one hundred fifty grand for college without understanding compound interest or the terms of your loans, then run to the gubmint to go after "greedy bankers".

The juice compounded daily for ten years... and nikkas starting up record labels and clothing lines.
:snoop:
Coulda been "giving back to the community by providing underprivileged minorities the opportunity to get a higher education" and juiced them motherfukkers at a quarter of the going rate for the rest of their natural lives.

That's with a standard interest loan, you gotta remember interest on those are compounded or capitalized more often than not.

Being Naive and obsessed with branding leads to these kinds of outcomes.
Both my parents went to PSU and I still didn't really understand the financial implications behind school loans. I can only imagine a person who is the first person in their family to go to school. I knew enough to know that 35k a year was too much for me . I got into Drexel, morehouse, upenn, Harvey mudd and a couple other schools like haverford etc. Parents made too much and the cheapest package I got was for Drexel in the mid 20s
I told all them shyts :salute:waited a semester and went to temple for 12k a year. With grants and schollys I came out owing 20k total. From my high school peers that shyt was a L cause we thought temple was a ghetto school (it's not) a lot of my hs classmates overextended themselves at places like morehouse and upenn. Going for social work or criminal justice degrees and what not. Retrospect is a muhfukka but I feel fortunate that I had the foresight to hedge my education on price and degree.

:salute: my cousin went to Temple University, she's a teacher now. Salute to those owls

Whenever i read articles like this I assume they majored in puppet theatre. I just can't understand going to an ivy league school only to come out with a degree in bullshyt. At least get a phd in it so you can go on to another university and peddle the same nonsense. At the very least you should come out with a business degree.

bytch thought all the work was done when she got accepted.

No bytch, now you have to pick a career. One that adds value to the country because the arts? Not gonna cut it. Probably thought she'd get wifed up and live off some nerd, and now they just 2 nerds, broke together. :banderas:
