Its truely a scam. They let you think that you can full-time school by taking out a loan but its better to just get a job and use all the money you make to pay for school. I did that and my loans at 4,600.00 and thats it.
So you did a part time job while dorming at a university?

I racked up about 42k through undergrad and grad school. (BSME and MBA)

Paying the loans off is not a struggle for me as I'm employed with a decent salary. However, it still sucks monumental levels of ass.

To the weelads I would definitely recommend exploring lower cost options such as starting at a 2-year school and transferring over to a 4-year. Also staying at home for a few years after graduation to reduce expenses while stacking up and/or paying off any loans you may have.

TYRONE GA!
Being Naive and obsessed with branding leads to these kinds of outcomes.
Both my parents went to PSU and I still didn't really understand the financial implications behind school loans. I can only imagine a person who is the first person in their family to go to school. I knew enough to know that 35k a year was too much for me . I got into Drexel, morehouse, upenn, Harvey mudd and a couple other schools like haverford etc. Parents made too much and the cheapest package I got was for Drexel in the mid 20s
I told all them shyts :salute:waited a semester and went to temple for 12k a year. With grants and schollys I came out owing 20k total. From my high school peers that shyt was a L cause we thought temple was a ghetto school (it's not) a lot of my hs classmates overextended themselves at places like morehouse and upenn. Going for social work or criminal justice degrees and what not. Retrospect is a muhfukka but I feel fortunate that I had the foresight to hedge my education on price and degree.

working at a call center , stacking this bread to dip off to a HBCU in the spring
may even settle for cc
but I NEED to get back in school quick. People that was in my HS class of 2010 done already graduated college and some more shyt
But the difference is you will have less loan to pay back. Just keep doing what you are doing. Don't let what your peers do stop you momentum.

Read my nightmare and never ever send your children to a university unless you can pay their expenses out of pocked. After graduating hs I attended Florida State University for two years, racked up 35k in student loans just for those two years, then I transferred to U of Miami private Law School and ended up racking up another tremendous amount of debt ($65k for the 4 years I attended). Then, because I am stupid, I decided to take another 3 years of law school in order to get my Accelerated Juris Doctor degree which netted me another 45k in student loans. When I EVENTUALLY graduated for good I was unable to find a spot at a firm the first 5 years out of college. Ended up getting married, having twins and moving into an decent apartment. I worked odd jobs at grocery stores, Walmart, target etc while my wife stayed home with the kids, well….One day I come home and my fukking brother in plowing my wife on the living room floor while my baby girls are crying next to them, in a fit of rage I took a hammer to my brothers rib cage and was arrested for violent assault and battery with a deadly weapon, was giving a year in county jail and in that time my wife divorced me, married my brother and moved out of state. I got out of jail with over 180k in student loans per interest on my head and no job. I currently work at a car repair garage because its all I can get and I only got the job because my uncle felt bad for me..I make $6 an hour because its under the table. I’ve contemplated suicide.

I don't agree with this. If you tout education as valuable and the way to get ahead/ensure a well-heeled populace, it's counterproductive to make attending so costly. These cost-of-attendance letters read to the tune of 60k/year..I think I have my old ones lying around somewhere but that's ridiculous for something that's supposed to be the key to the American Dream/whatever.

Loans are on par with the "cost of educating" people, which is bs.
Education is worthless commodity. The thing is people fall for the PC lies.
