More alarming to me...

She got a degree from Harvard and a degree from Cornel, and nobody will hire her? :dwillhuh:
Bullshyt! If she wants to work, she'll work. Understandably, she's choosey after attaining degrees from those places but after a while one has to bite the bullet.

You went to Tech right? Man I'm so mad I didn't go there smh. Went on a tour there when I was in high school and everything. Chose to go to another school because I couldn't afford GT

nikka, I was an out of state student but I did Navy ROTC to pay my shyt. I delayed my admission a year to goto ROTC prep school so I could get the Navy to pay my shyt. Thing is I "technically" was enlisted during this year. When I got to Tech the next year and did my ROTC shyt, I didn't realize until year later that I could have REALLY ate well being that I was a veteran and single student. I should' ve changed my home state to GA, applied for and gotten food stamps too. nikka, I could've been the king :to:

I got booted out of ROTC years later at school, but still got my degree. Unfortunately I had to pay the last year and a half on my own, but it was with student loans and shyt (I got some regardless even with ROTC paying so I could cover my room/board and extra shyt). And to top shyt off, I had to pay the Navy BACK the bread they spent on me since I got :camby: out of there for "aptitude". Anyway, I ended up owing 40k on regular student loans and another 40 to the Navy. :mjcry:

I'll be done with the regular loans next year, but I'll probably just continue to pay just the interest payment on my Navy loans for the rest of my life. It's like a hundred a month, no big deal.

The investment was worth it considering what I do now and what I get paid so :yeshrug:

It's all about working that system man! Plus you came out good going to Tech. Man y'all run Atlanta! That's one reason why I wanted to go there but it's all good. I would NEEEVER take out no huge ass loans for school, not even at 18. A nikka wasn't trying to pay some shyt off for the rest of my life. I didn't even have a car yet smh. People have got to learn how to game the system.

Nothing wrong with a little student loan debt if your projected salary justifies it.

But, taking out six-figure student loan debt to get a $40k job is not smart, financially.

Six-figure debt should lead to a high six-figure job with salary growth potential.

that last year and a half having to pay loans killed me. I had to convince the financial aid office to cover me the last semester. They initially denied me. :francis:
Had to talk to the head of the Financial Aid office in Tech Tower. :to:

I thank God everyday for giving my mom the wisdom to deter me from going to that expensive as private college I wanted to attend coming out of high school.

I'd probably still be paying off those loans. :whoo:

Peace of mind >>>

Breh you got the right mind set. shyt is like one of the investments you could ever make on life.

Folks don't think twice about throwing down thousands for a car and that shyt a trash investment.

It is all about playing the game the right way when going to college.

From getting grants, scholarships, work study, taking classes at Juco, living off campus or at home with the parents, doing internships, renting books instead of buying them and getting paid or having a hustle in college to pay bills

It is all about how you work it. You can reduce that overall college bill 10k to 20k to 30k all about having a plan and working it.

My wife just paid hers off, we now divert that money for car repairs or a down payment when we need a new car.

I owe about 24k still. Bout to get 17.5 off tho because this is my 5th year at a Title 1 school.

I'll prolly just end up selling one of my folk's properties. :manny:
The other two I think I'll rent out.
