As a football player, I lasted two weeks on my schools high profile West Indian track team. shyt was too much

That doesn't change the fact that HS participation is declining breh.

And it may not predict high school participation but kids will be funneled towards other sports.

participation in the sport in U.S. high schools was down 2.3% in the 2012-13 season from the 2008-09 season, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations. High-school basketball participation fell 1.8% in the period.

seems like all sports are declining....

Football cardio is more stop and go.. I remember in 11th grade our HS football team won the state championship so all the 2 sports stars were late coming out for basketball.. We had about of month of conditioning ahead of them and dudes just a few days removed from a state championship were throwing up during their first week of hoops practice..

These were Div 1 athletes that went on to play in the Pac 10 and Big 12...Dudes were like "fukk this sh1t"

:russ:

was the opposite for me :manny:

basketball conditioning was a breeze coming off of football season. And we were very mediocre in football and really good in basketball.

The difference is that football gets all of it's talent from inside the US, their talent pool is much smaller than basketball which has close to a billion people that play the sport worldwide.

Who is looking at football worldwide popularity?

If I am to up the thread of the kid that died on the field last year, we will see none of this football is dead thing we are seeing in here. What's so new about this one other than the media frenzy you guys are parroting?

Most these dudes got some type of sports inferiority complex where there is some jealousy over the popularity of the sport and how their sport isn't as popular, so they

Pray and pray for my downfall

I took a fastball to the side of the dome when I played baseball in school

I quit soon after that and sold weed instead
I took a fastball to the ribs in PDL
kept playing

but a couple years later I was shot in the shoulder
ended all my hoop and baseball dreams

There not gonna take away a sport people want to play. Plenty of NFL players know the risk and don't care cause they're getting paid millions to play a game. As long as that's the case, football will be here.

The NFL, considering they want a team in London.
Well.. I feel the NFL is stupid for that , but we all know the sport allegedly "dying" is tied to here as is the discussion

There are much better ways to get cardio work if you're a high school student

:russ:

Cross country or track for one.. But lets be honest.. Being on the football team is cool.. Even if you don't play a lot.. Wearing the jersey the Friday at school before the game and having cheerleaders and teachers fawn all over you is alluring..
Exactly breh

That Friday night spotlight alone especially in a football town and not to mention all the extra shyt that comes with it is enough to make most kids forget about the potential dangers that comes with playing

The idea of a punch drunk football player was never evidenced to you?
No :ld:

Crippled and arthritic yes, but not so much punchdrunk. We see ex-pros on TV every day who look like theyre doing great, but we don't know what they're going thru healthwise unless they tell us. Its not obvious like boxing...
