LOOKING BACK: Could Chance the rapper's debut have been worth the "blogging fakkit hipster" hype?

I remember everyone was like " He's getting so much acclaim off 1 mixtape. Industry plant!! "
But think about it
damn near EVERY track was piff
It's hidden track was even piff
He brought the whole package (no homo) with this tape. People were fronting off him getting rolling stone acclaim but I don't really get why it wasn't warranted off of acid rap

He just made catchy different music and caught fire at the time

Dude is the perfect storm for an jndie artist but he isnt a plant and dudes who suspect him to be one dont know his story...yet they accept travis scott story and its low key similar to chances except chance atayed indie and aknt steal/copy nikkas at his levels style and or music like scott allegedly did

I think hes talented and a good live performer...but the insane amount of hype that tape had was disproportionate as hell. Didnt make sense how he became an overnight sensation like that.
