Don't smoke weed if u looking for work because of drug tests.
:ohhh:I was talking to an oldhead the other day about working field tech for the phone company.

One of the biggest issues they have with the entry level work is fools not passing the drug tests. They pass those, they give out the work ASAP.

The amount of folks I know who can't leave that shyt alone:francis:Till it is socially accepted in workplace environments, or you own your own shyt, toss that in the bushes

and make this cash.

All The Way One Hunnid
The game is rigged you wont get anywhere by playing fair. Let me tell you the REAL way to get a job.
1. you have to lie/ exaggerate especially if it's your first job
2.Make your cv as identical as possible to the jobs your applying for. When you upload your cv to databases the output the recruiter get's is keywords, if your cv does not include the keywoards you wont get contacted.
3. Try to get a recommendation, doesn't matter how shyt your cv is or how incompetent you are if you have a recommendation from someone already working at the company you're going to get hired.
4.Never have any too long gaps between employment recruiters see this as a red flag.
This. Post. is. MONEY!

It's sad especially for a black man. The job market is fuked up. It's best to update ur resume and if u know of any HR professionals and hiring managers...let them look at it. Having key words to the preferred job qualifications would help. Market urself by asking people u know in church, family, friends and family friends, people u see out who look gainfully employed and successful, etc. Don't smoke weed if u looking for work because of drug tests. Stay up late putting applications online...everything is done online nowadays.

I'm a working professional and with a master's degree and was laid off last year. I got a govt contractor job a month later because my mom asked a professional guy in a nail salon who was getting a pedicure and he gave me some jobs to apply. I applied for other jobs for that company and I got the job the day after I interviewed. Now I'm trying to get on a govt civilian job on usajobs.gov because I want more stability, better benefits and more money. U just gotta stay on it.

Good luck getting a federal government job if you're not a 10 point vet.

Yea I had quit my job. had an interview with Sears they offered me a job and told me they were going to email the info for orientation and I never got the email. Walmart hired me but I put the wrong SS in my application and they told me I had to fix it and it didn't let me and I haven't heard from them since. I had an interview with Home Depot today and they offered me a sales associate and Im just waiting for my background test and drug test results.

I agree. Those civilian government jobs have a strong preference for vets but there are people who never been in the military and are govt employees. I just have to find one that's a direct hire.

Self employment is cool but you GOT to have some form of financial backing. I mean an investor, grant or at least saving your money from a 9 to 5 to get started. I have my own company but still work 9 to 5 while grinding on the side till my company can take off.

I'm on the outs with TSA so I took a week off to burn my remaining leave and got hired with Geico in a weeks time. Recommendation from my ex. It's crazy what I had to do to get an entry level position; phone interview, typing multi-tasking assessment, 1st face to face interview (45 minutes), role play (one hour), job shadow (one hour), 2nd interview with hiring manager. I slayed those fukking interviews. My advice is research the company and work that information into your answers to interview questions. It lets them know you're going to take the position seriously. I haven't had an interview in eight years but going in for the job you should already know what they want to hear. It's all in how you say it. Be confident. Let them know they need you but don't say it in those exact words.

Most likely a customer-interaction position...I'm sure they won't put the corporate prospects through all of that.
