The wife and I are sailing Carnival out of Galveston in October, on a 8 day going to Belize, and some other stops I can't remember. I just wanted to go to Belize.

Caught the mad discount from booking after the last cruise in 2019. Then covid hit and we got pushed back twice before they straight up canceled us without notice. After calling and barking on them they put us back on with the same discount and a $600 on ship voucher (we're gonna use that for the pictures cause them joints will run your pockets easy)

I like late October because it's pretty much after hurricane season and like someone said, kids are in school

It really depends on the crowd you get. Its best to go with some people you appreciate, and not just your significant other either. some wild cards and some cool friends so that way you have some wiggle room.

even if u like your girl, a bad crowd will make her cling onto you and that's never fun. and then if you have no other people with you you wont be interested in many events on the ship if the crowd is bad.

I’m going on Carnival Mardi Gras in March to Grand Turks and a couple other places…first time on a cruise…

I’m excited but slightly nervous. Y’all posts got me wondering lol…wifey and I only, she went for her first time last year. Said I would enjoy it. Idk, seems like I might….i just don’t know about the shows people been saying they hit or miss…I get that you can eat all day, but it seems like it might be a boring week.

I’m probably gonna pass on the drink plan. im more of a smoker. i already purchased $100 in bar credit, that should do me til i get back. Wifey might have two or three drinks tops.

Got like 2 excursions but the rest seemed boring, we did it before, or the review said to not pay for it lmbo

Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
Norwegian and Royal Caribbean are the best
Make sure when you book the cruise to book the excursions before you get on the boat the reason is because they will be sold out when everyone is on board.
get the drink pass it makes sense to order it when you buy your ticket. you don't want to order a bunch of drinks and then look at the bill when it's time to debark.
have some cash on hand to tip the guy/crew that cleans your room. you can tip them through the system but they appreciate it when you hand it to them.
the wifi on the boat is horrible but the cellular plans are pretty bad for cruises too. i don't know how to fix that but turn your phone on airplane mode.

Some good advice here, the only thing I disagree with is that VirginVoyages is the best. They specifically cater to the "adults only" crowd, so there's a lot more adult activity and opportunities for grown people fun on their cruises :shaq:

I got food poisoning on the first day of this 7 day cruise I went on. That being said I have the time of my life :russ:

Was this around any sort of major health/global crisis like Sars/Swine Flu?
I remember one Cruise I was on around that time, had anyone who puked or looked sick quarantined in their room for the whole trip on some bullshyt.
My lil Cousin at the time started blowing chunks, first day at one of tables and they ran everybody out the joint and brought in cats with hazmat suits and went looking for him.
Had to hide him away with my aunt until they gave up the search.

Club.
You'll meet 'em.
Casino. Lido Deck. Top Deck. Poolside.
Plenty of places to hunt.
If you old enough to buy alcohol, girls 16-20 might look to use you to cop.
Anything above 18 is fair game, of course, but as long as you're noticeable, you'll make friends/aquaintences.
Also, find out where the 24 hour pizza spot is.
I was cruising for damn near 15 years but ain't been on one in over a decade so I don't know if they changed up the protocol, but the 24 hour pizza spot is where errybody goes to after the club shuts down (at 1) to get nourishment from drinking.
Make friends/small talk with them cats in the back.
Prolly Fillipino or some other non Chinese Asian.
Them cats were making me off the menu pizza and had my shyts ready anytime I walked up at 1:30 with a broad or friends in tow.
Also, search around the ship for food spots that do food the way you want.
The Buffett looks tempting at first, but after a period of time you might get sick of the shyts.
They almost always got a sandwich joint serving crunchy, fresh shyt.
That and look out for them Mongolian Wok cats.
They food be fire.
Also, let your folks know you don't HAVE to eat Dinner in the dining room as it says on your card.
I mean, they gonna prolly wanna go, see what it's about, thinking that if they don't show up, they missing out, but it's not mandatory.
I only used to go out of courtesy until my folks started hitting their own individual spots to eat and I only turned up with a chick on some date shyt.
Also, be mindful of the drinking water.
shyt is recycled.
Cop water off port. By the gallons if possible.
Also, Enjoy!

Stay far away from Carnival

The fukk did Carnival do to y'all nikkas?
Carnival is cheaper and has a higher concentration of "Florida Man" type cats both black and white, but pound for pound I've had my best outings on Carnival mainly because the folk I met up with were more down to earth than the Norwegian/Royal Caribbean, which caters more to people wanting to enjoy the ship/excursions/shows rather than the people.
Everyone's starter cruise should be a Carnival one, in my opinion. Get a lay of the land first before you decide if you wanna spend more money to have a 'better' experience/amenities.
