I see Mobley's extension begins next season. That puts them over the 2nd apron. :francis:

Struss contract is the one that hurts.

Jerome the only real free agent they need to try to keep. Tristan and Sam Merrill ain't nobody (word to @Basaglia ).
Gilbert has the money to pay if they team has a shot to win either this year or next. I know that he still wants to prove that he can win 1 w/o Bron. Over time, they are going to have to let some players go because stay over the apron cripples the team long term.

The talent is already spread around. My issue is really about teams that draft well being forced to part ways because of these rules that prevent them from keeping those guys they've invested in.

They need to make some exemptions specifically around that. Doesn't make sense to me.

We gonna see the real crying when it’s time for OKC to pay Jalen Williams & Chet and both want maxes

that second apron penalty too much. It's like 189 million. Cap is 140, 1st apron is 171 million.

they're like 4 million over the 2nd apron right now, but next season is REALLY BAD. They got 225 million already on the books and are projected to be almost 18 million over the projected 2nd apron right now. Their 5 core starters next season at 190 million alone.

next season apron tracker.

It's why Phoenix gonna try and dump KD in the offseason. They're 26 million over the 2nd apron THIS season and are paying massive penalties. Cleveland gonna have to make some choices this summer too as they're projected to be over the 2nd apron next season as well.
These financial penalties shouldn't be all that big of a deal to the supposed billionaire owners raking in 100 of millions of dollars of profit every year from their team.

Dan Gilbert is worth 20 billion. NBA can't generate a tax bill big enough to matter to him.

They can't pay these over apron penalties they need to get their money up or sell the team to someone who has there money up.

Billionaires making record profit every year crying about paying 28 million dollars in tax penalties :scust:

It’s not just the financial penalties

You can only trade 1 player at a time you can’t combine salaries, you can’t use the taxpayer MLE or sign players that are waived if they made more than it, you can’t use cash in trades, you’re limited in what picks you can trade and if you’re in 3 of 5 years then your pick will get automatically moved to #30

The NBA's CBA is ass for penalizing teams for retaining and paying players that THEY drafted and developed. Nobody can tell me otherwise
The gold standard that everyone swears by (NFL) is even more extreme with it.

And teams arent being penalized, they are being protected. All these mechanisms from the cap on down are intended to save owners money.

They arent...thats why they upped the ante and basically instituted a hard cap and started messing with exceptions and trades because you have always had owners that :manny: about the money.

they have draft picks to keep replenishing the cheap talent around them.

So the Wallace's, Dort's and even Hartenstein's are the ones who could wind up elsewhere.

2nd rounders are gonna have to hit at a higher rate.

Sam Hauser is on the bench and projected to make 10 million next season. Jrue and Porzingis due a total of 60 mil, Tatum and Brown are 105 million combined next year. This shyt was never sustainable. I expect Hauser and either Jrue or White to be shipped off. Al gonna retire.
