white people stripped my continent for free, can you show me where the chinese are doing that? Or did you forget what a trade agreement was? You giving me 10 mllion for a bag of diamonds and a new university is not rape. you come coming to my land and simply taking whatever you want for free is. You do realize in order to build wealth you must sell the resources you have right? Since when are selling ones resources rape? The sooner black americans stop spewing cac bullshyt about what they know not of, the better.

Actually no, it is about what you created, not what you own. What you created comes from within you, what you own may have been stolen from someone else. If I cheat off of your SAT is that better than you having actually known the answers?

We are now mixing nationality and race.

Here is a list of black owned corporations, some of which are international. Let me know if you need a list of the fortune 500s.

http://www.theroot.com/photos/2011/02/the_nations_top_10_blackowned_companies.html

Blacks own nothing? are you a cac? STOP LISTENING TO CAC MEDIA. IT IS THERE TO BRAIN WASH YOU. I AM TIRED OF HAVING TO SAY THIS EVERY DAY ON HERE.

I'm sorry to be frank here, but your land is america. You might want to look at where Nigeria ranks and where Angola and few others are projected to rank in the next 5 years. MY land has already been taken back, YOUR land is there and you need to learn to assimilate better, it appears by the link I just posted some black americans are putting in work, while others are on a virtual soapbox talking out of their arse because they and the people in their own community have not woken up to reality yet.

Nollywood exists, our resources are currently being used to rebuild our continent while you remain in your own country like a lost lamb. I don't know what the success of Nigeria, Angola, Botswana will do for you. I mean, seriously, do you some how think you will reconnect with a country you are not a part of? How about coming to visit first, before you jump ahead of yourself there. A powerful Angola doesn't automatically make successful african americans, especially when a vast majority do not have passports. I don't even understand the logic, again, confusing race and nationality.

fukk you if you disagree....

Which America are you talking about? McDonalds didn't invent the chicken nugget, yet it made untold billions from it. Andrew Carnegie didn't know the first thing about making steel, yet made hundreds of millions(which adjusted for inflation means billions) off it. J.P. Morgan and Charles Schwab didn't know the first thing about making steel, how much money did they make off US Steel?

Don't get me wrong, there are people who got extremely rich of their inventions, Henry Ford or Bill Gates to name two of them. But they had to fight tooth and nail to maintain ownership during their companies' inceptions. Ask any business man worth his salt, ownership is everything.

...why would I provide a 'counter-argument' to a post that complete missed my point and instead decided to emphasize pointless black american vs. black african rhetoric?

You naming black-owned companies is not a rebuttal to anything I said. I didn't say no black individuals anywhere owned anything....I simply said that once the diaspora establishes economic superiority, these kind of gripes will be proven to be petty. Your butthurt means nothing to me...'debate' somewhere else lil nikka...

I wasn't talking about money, now with that in mind, read it again. You are under the impression culture is bought, in order to have culture you have to buy it, that is typical cac mentality. That is why you are quick to buy artists, but you don't actually own the culture, what happens is people of that culture will just throw it away once it's tainted and create another outlet. This is why american culture is seen as a joke. What is american culture? first thing you think of are corporations. Ford, McDonalds. It's sad really. And it's sad that black people want to follow these rules, when they need not. Culture is within their hearts, they effortlessly express it to the world which is why it is envious. A lost people can just display new culture over night. It's amazing, eh cac?

Superiority over whom? You think you will get economic superiority over the majority population? Or do you mean as a whole?

I totally understand why some black people feel their culture is being bought out, why some are disrespected when it is mimicked. When that is all you have, that is precious, but you simply swiping that way because they lack 'capitalistic' ownership is comedic. You are viewing music and culture like it is a product. Your fukking culture is not a product. You are black, that is not your mentality, you should know better.

America is the new form, they take 'italian food' it is now Pizza hut. Let's not get into coffee and starbucks, or perhaps tobacco? Surprise. Now your eyes are open.

Alas the vulture tries to discredit everything. Yet deep down he is envious with passion. At one time jazz as jungle music, blues african noise, rock noise, now look at him as he wears the culture like a mascot clown. Techno and house festivals thousands deep with your people as the speakers pump the creation of a colored expression. I see you prancing around as if you created it. Rock, not yours, Banjo, not yours, even the very gun you love, not yours. You see, you are good with propaganda, but not very good with culture. It angers you, you will try to discredit it until you adopt it, and then it becomes a gem, ah you've conquored it, ah ha you have it in your hands, you wear its fur, but what you don't realise is...culture is not a product, it will be a forever chase for you.

Hip Hop isn't culture, tell that to the many white fans who disagree and love it. Those same white media outlets that know every well it is a culture and are actually upset that corporations are watering it's authenticity down. You are here, we are not looking for you, you looked for us. Hey, isn't that how the story has always been? Surprise. Your eyes are open.

I'm white, honestly what he's saying about whites infiltrating hip-hop the way we did with rock and other genres of music is true, but besides that he is pushing an extremely counterproductive and down right destructive narrative. To say whites don't create anything is ridiculous and not even worthy of a response beyond that. Now as far as hip-hop goes, he should focus his energy more on the people destroying the integrity of the culture, regardless of race. Corporate America has done much damage to the culture, and this can be seen as white america but there are people of all races playing a role in this. Also hip-hop has been one of the greatest factors in race relations in this country and the whole world really, and what he's saying seeks to destroy a lot of that progress. Old white women go to rap concerts nowadays for christs sakes. Artists like Drake, Cole, and Kendrick will push that even further, also Macklemore will help with that too. I live in South Philly, in a neighborhood that was historically racist, but now you drive by the playgrounds and see kids of all races playing basketball or football together, when I was in high school there was no racial tension in my class (about 200 people), and I mean none. Whites and blacks were literally united through their love of hip-hop and the culture as a whole. I understand why some blacks are still angry as racism is far from dead, and the history of our country is disgusting as far as treatment of blacks and minorities as a whole goes, but the majority of white people have nothing to do with that, are ashamed of that, and come from middle class to poor families so we can relate to the average minority much more than we can relate to rich people and those in corporate america regardless of what race they are. I just feel like he's bitter and way too stuck in the 90s, hip-hop/rap will never go back to what it was, and no one should want it to, though a lot of great music was made it was also very destructive. I'm not saying I'm completely happy with the state of it right now, but that's on us as listeners and consumers to show support for the artists making real soulful music that looks to build and unite rather than the majority of the trash that's on the radio or mtv that is destructive and ignorant.

And to the people who were arguing a couple posts before me about whether hip-hop is a culture or solely entertainment, as you can tell by my post and how many times I used the word, it is definitely a culture, and at least where I grew up and probably every other inner city in America it is by far the most influential culture of the last 20 years, and that's a beautiful thing. Just a little story regarding that, a couple of my boys rebuilt one of the basketball courts in my neighborhood, my boy Camp was one of them, he's actually boys with Young Chris and recently put out an LP and a song with Chris, well anyway another friend of mine was arguing with me saying it's bad for the neighborhood cause it's gona cause fights, then one day this same kid calls me up and says, "well I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong, I just drove by the playground and saw 10 black kids walking up and 10 white kids standing in front of the park, I thought they were gona have words or fight, next thing I know they're all shaking hands and walking into the playground together." That's a little off topic, but bottomline hip-hop did that.
