That makes no sense, white people collectively created the word/definition if you wanted it to mean something else you would make it mean something else collectively. The simple thing white people can do that are so concerned about racism if they really are is talk to there white family and friends as white people have all the institutional power and are the ones that practice racism and can end it tomorrow if they wanted to a black man's prejudice is not effecting how you guys get jobs, housings, eduction, entertainment ect. Only white people have the power to turn there prejudiced into racism.

But black people created slavery. So I guess it all balances out and we should start living in the present if we want to improve the quality of life for all. No, "white people" do not have institutional power, Jay Electronica maybe knows those people, but thinking a white person knows people with institutional power because they're white is level 1 thinking. Get your thinking game up.

If you dont care why would you throw that statement out there, and even if that were true what is your point? Again that would be an example of something white people stole

I'm white, honestly what he's saying about whites infiltrating hip-hop the way we did with rock and other genres of music is true, but besides that he is pushing an extremely counterproductive and down right destructive narrative. To say whites don't create anything is ridiculous and not even worthy of a response beyond that. Now as far as hip-hop goes, he should focus his energy more on the people destroying the integrity of the culture, regardless of race. Corporate America has done much damage to the culture, and this can be seen as white america but there are people of all races playing a role in this. Also hip-hop has been one of the greatest factors in race relations in this country and the whole world really, and what he's saying seeks to destroy a lot of that progress. Old white women go to rap concerts nowadays for christs sakes. Artists like Drake, Cole, and Kendrick will push that even further, also Macklemore will help with that too. I live in South Philly, in a neighborhood that was historically racist, but now you drive by the playgrounds and see kids of all races playing basketball or football together, when I was in high school there was no racial tension in my class (about 200 people), and I mean none. Whites and blacks were literally united through their love of hip-hop and the culture as a whole. I understand why some blacks are still angry as racism is far from dead, and the history of our country is disgusting as far as treatment of blacks and minorities as a whole goes, but the majority of white people have nothing to do with that, are ashamed of that, and come from middle class to poor families so we can relate to the average minority much more than we can relate to rich people and those in corporate america regardless of what race they are. I just feel like he's bitter and way too stuck in the 90s, hip-hop/rap will never go back to what it was, and no one should want it to, though a lot of great music was made it was also very destructive. I'm not saying I'm completely happy with the state of it right now, but that's on us as listeners and consumers to show support for the artists making real soulful music that looks to build and unite rather than the majority of the trash that's on the radio or mtv that is destructive and ignorant.
Few things I noticed wrong with this. I find it strange that you would said "to say whites don't create anything is ridiculous" you strategically ignore the fact that I didn't just say 'anything' I said culture, specifically. By saying 'anything', you are strategically making my statement wrong, and yours right. When clearly I was being very detailed.

I also noticed, you refused to say 'your culture' but rather 'the culture'. Clever.

Everything else I actually agree with though.

Nah, Jamar was probably right.

I love everybody who is humble, not completely selfish and somewhat trustworthy though.

I wasn't talking about your post I was addressing how Lord Jamar said "white people don't create anything".

In which case I agree, to say 'anything' is most definitely wrong, everyone have created 'something', however I think he may have misspoke and meant american music genres, as the topic pertained to music. In which he is correct.

That I can't really speak on I don't know the history of many music genres. Whites probably created Country right?

Nah man, it was influenced too much by black genres. There is no musical genre you could list for white people. That's truth. Maybe garbage like rag-time or something, idk. Black music reigns supreme.
