Amazon threw the bag into this they should have also threw the bag at the Tolkien estate and adapted the Silmarillion and got decent show runners to run things. Would have been epic, can you imagine Morgoth vs Fingolfin.

Season 2's been a big improvement. If they completely bushed the counterfeit gandalf and hobbits storyline, it'd be even better.
It's never going to be OT level as they don't have Tolkien's dialogue to work with but the general draft of the story from this era that Tolkien provided is pure flames.
It would have been better if they had the rights to the Silmarillion though. Melkor would have been

Sauron basically seems like the Devil to me and pretty powerful already
, but I guess the rings give him more power. And allow him to corrupt people who wear the rings more?
From an actual emotional character connection, the Queen Miriel/Elendil is the strongest for me. The religious vibes are strong in Numenor. From a visual perspective, continues to have the most gorgeous scenery.
