I think the salt in the wound was them having to pay Steely Dan 100k and give them all the publishing from the song. It's one thing to give them all the publishing but they had to give them 100k just to accept all the publishing for a hit record :scust:
No not really, it's a money game bruh. They are entitled to everything, now the lyrics? Dude I don't know how they pulled of that fukkery. They went for the jugular on that one.

Another crazy thing is that cacs have been stealing music from blacks for centuries with no consequences. Profiting double, triple, quad times. Black does it, now its laws and shyt. Maybe it's me, but it's hard for me to believe he didn't steal that beat from somebody black in some old jazz or blues bar. The beat is way too hard for a Cac not to have stole it. They are the most uncreative devils on the planet.

nah, @Blackthoughts
dont know what he talking bout
'94 new york was on top till somewhere in da mid '00s when da south took over
True. West coast was really on top at that time also. Never in a million years would I think the wack south rappers would take over. I'm not talking about UGK, 8ball and MJG, etc. I'm talking about Atlanta fagot rappers like Young Thug.

Listen to rap no matter what side of the US you lived on in 94, shyt was :blessed:. Listen to that BULLshyt now, it is like :merchant:

This is the most mindblowing, fukked up aspect of all of this. It's one thing to lose all the publishing on the record, but to not to be able to perform the song at all? Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
They could still be getting little bs show money right today off that song.

them not being allowed to perform the song isn't even true lol, you can find them performing the song in dozens of videos on youtube. They still eat off that song til this day

I remember getting the single for this with my dad and we jammed it a bunch of times on the way home. He's a big Steely Dan fan and I actually saw them play a couple times too. Always killed it.

These dudes faded away sooo quickly though. I also remember buying the album awhile later and it pretty much being a 2/5 kinda thing.
